DARK FUNERAL - Let the Devil In (OFFICIAL VIDEO)
Taken from the Album "We Are The Apocalypse", Out March 18th, 2022
Order now: DarkFuneral.lnk.to/WeAreTheAp...
Credits: Video by Grupa13
“It is with great pleasure that we can hereby offer you a first taste of our upcoming album ‘We Are The Apocalypse’ with the track ‘Let The Devil In’. It may be a slightly different song from us, but it still holds the true darkness and spirit that is Dark Funeral. It was obvious to all of us that this would be the song that we set the bar with and premiere first. The song also comes with a video, which we recorded in Wroclaw, Poland together with Grupa13. It really was a great pleasure to work with such a professional team. The result is outstanding and fits this completely dark story that is ‘Let The Devil In’ very well.”
“To me, ‘Let The Devil In’ comes in as a proof of the great deeds you can achieve when you turn to your innermost darkness and in harmony become one with your inner devil. ENJOY the darkness!”

"Let The Devil In" I take a deep, good look inside myself I open up the gates to let the Devil in He's riding on the shadow of my soul And everywhere I go, he'll be there walking beside me The bringer of chaos Through my eyes he sees the world And the voices, they are guiding my hands I open up the throat to sacrifice the lamb of God And let the warm and flowing blood Fulfill my emptiness and let the Devil hear The futile, painful, soundless screams He's riding on the shadow of my soul I open wide the chest to feast upon the beating heart And let the pulse arouse my flesh And our eyes can see, so deep within the dark When all is black we're marching on We wander through the flaming pits of Hell Where hungry beasts have waited since the birth of time Of fire born and eager to consume To scorch the earth, to burn the world To cleanse the filth and drown it all in blood The bringer of chaos Through my eyes he sees the world And my hands are no longer my own I open up the throat to sacrifice the lamb of God And let the warm and flowing blood Fulfill my emptiness and let the Devil hear The futile, painful, soundless screams I open wide the chest to feast upon the beating heart And let the pulse arouse my flesh And our eyes can see so deep within the dark When all is black and all is gone

A lovely sound indeed! And on a side note, perhaps the funniest aspect of being a metalhead is listening to music that heteronormatives would consider terrifying or “angry noise” and in complete honesty going “my word, what a marvelous tune this is!” Because it is. An acquired taste, I like to think of it as.

Soul? I mean he is an excellent drummer, and it's a pity he had to leave, but he was nowhere near being the soul of the band. That title belongs to Ahriman or Caligula, in my honest opinion. I will, however, acknowledge that he was probably the most talented drummer the band has had. Modin was excellent as well, but not at the level of Dominator. The guy was just phenomenal.

I've been a DF fan since 20 years ago and this song sounds (for me) just a little different that we are used. Definitely what has marked a progressive difference into the music of DF is the constant change of members. In the times of Caligula and Matte Moddin (Attera Totus Sanctus) they gived to us a great and impressive album. In the Caligula and Dominator ages, (we are talking about Angelus Exuro Pro Eternus) the sound was more brutal fast and agressive. In Where shadows forever reign, the sound was just a little slow and calmed (even with the evil blast of dominator) but now this sound a like combination between slow and agressive. And now, with a different vocalist and drummer DF sounds very different, just compare this song and Stigmata or Godhate (even Vobiscum Satanas), there´s no point of comparison. Excellent way to evolve. Great song.! A great and evil album wait for us!

Like I tell people all the time, it's youtube. Things get lost in translation digitally. Especially at low quality rates. There's alot of songs I don't listen to on KZread, especially if I own the album or song. It doesn't sound the same compared to from the original source, a lot time it loses its punch and crunch. I just know it's gonna sound crushing ripped straight from cd or played in my car or home stereo, not through blu tooth either.

Definitely a good band but not amongst the best. Too generic and doesn't stand out from the crowd. Also, they've never released anything like "Under A Funeral Moon", "DMDS", "Under The Sign Of The Black Mark", "Goetia", "I.N.R.I." or anything of that level. But I enjoy listening to them from time to time.
