    Easy... if you want to hear true/raw Black Metal you're in the wrong place If you wanna listen a badass and catchy song without any concern about childish labels you're in the right place

  • @azraelsgrave

    @azraelsgrave

    8 жыл бұрын

    It depends on your perspective of 'raw' or 'true'. Many so called hardcore people into black metal would say its underdeveloped musical compositions combined with poor audio equipment and/or recording. And if you state otherwise you do not notice how many are recorded this way, and how many people swear by bands that facilitate themselves in this fashion. And then with some black metal bands the corpse paint looks like they got in a fight with the paint can. I enjoy all types of music (besides rap). Then you have some so called people into black metal and they are only familiar with the more main stream bands. The more low key and still damn good bands they'll usually have no clue about. It doesn't take you burning a church (Immortal called Varg an idiot for that, very funny video if you ever watch their broadcasts). It doesn't make you true/raw by going hey lets use our dead vocalist as a cover aka Mayhem. I would simply call that freedom of expression. But you know some would run around with clothes from Hot Topics and listening to the more homogenized black metal bands and think, 'yay I know what black metal is'. Its always very funny. Then you get some bands with corpse paint that try to look hmmm menacing I guess, wouldn't call it evil. And it just looks like they raided a garbage dump then proceed to make the dumbest expressions while they play or sing (live or music video), even if some of the music is fucking cool .. its like watching black metal comedy hour. And in closing if you reply and can name a single band that kicks the underground ass and isn't widely known, don't worry I'm sure I will know them (don't look one up either! cheaters never prosper lol) .. Then I will say you are widely in tune with your music, yes sorry I won't say any of that gay shit aka 'i love you' for knowing something less known.

    ***** I agree with you at some degree and there's always some degree of subjectivity when feeling and talking about music. I guess my comment was targeted to those people who get into the comment section to complain about something they don't like according to their perspective about "true" something, in this case Black Metal. Still, I don't consider this era of Satyricon as Black Metal but more like Black N' Roll or Blackened Metal or whatever you/me/anyone could call it. That doesn't mean I don't like it, actually I prefer this change instead of listening to every band who wants to stay "true" sounding exactly the same as they did 10 years ago and like any other true black metal band before them.

  • @aeshmapalazzo23

    @aeshmapalazzo23

    ***** I don't think of any Black Metal band who's rocking the underground scene, it's been a while since I've looked for any and I do not consider myself an expert or a die hard fan of the subject. I must confess that I considered the corpse paint something awesome when I was a teen, now I find it quite hilarious but sometimes amusing. When I was more into Black Metal I enjoyed listening to Darkthrone, Emperor (Ihsahn has also changed and delivering some decent songs/albums), Samael (I'm not sure if I agree with their evolution but I appreciate their attempt to create something else), Enslaved, Nargaroth, Immortal, Judas Iscariot, Marduk, and maybe another that couldn't come to mind. I think I was on the tip of the iceberg when I was into BM.

    Even though this is like a pop track compared to their early materlial, I see no reason too mock just because of that. People have different opinions and tastes, I myself likes many types of music. The elitists can say what they want, I think that this is a very catchy, fun song that fits very good with a beer or two :-)

    It looks as if there is a huge line of white in front of Satyr! Hahahaha! This video blew my mind when I saw it the first time. Seventh grade, 2 AM watching the "dark" shows on my local music TV channel. It might not be classic black metal AT ALL, but it will be with me forever. It made me go down the rabbit hole and finally end up listening to black metal for 15 years now.
