Not only the best show on TV, I think it's the greatest comic book adaptation ever made

The theme song always gave me goosebumps

What I love about Matt is that he isn't perfect. He stumbles. He falls. He lies and he breaks his rules when he needs to or he'll sacrifice himself for anything as seen when he gave up his own life to push someone out the way of a bus in the comics to save them. The Netflix show does this perfectly and they make it a massive part of his character

Daredevil isn't just my favorite superhero show Its not just my favorite superhero media It's my absolute favorite show of all time

My favourite sentences in this entire series: "God knows I want to but you don't get to destroy who I am, you will go back to prison where you will live the rest of your miserable life in a cage knowing you will never have vanessa, This city rejected you, It beat you, I BEAT YOU"

The fight choreography is something else on this show. You can see his fighting style is a mix of boxing, ufc, and just flailing his body around until he hits someone. It’s not unreasonably flashy or unrealistic because of the plot and context he is the son of a boxer and fights crime in the streets, so it’s reasonable to assume this is what it would look like. Not like Charlie’s Angels where every character is the ‘badass’ fighter character despite them having completely different skill sets and personalities.

Hey just so you know, Disney/Marvel wasn't responsible for the Marvel Netflix shows being cancelled. Netflix didn't continue with them because they had to pay Marvel a fee to use their characters, on top of it already being extremely expensive to film in New York. The shows just weren't popular enough to justify it. Netflix doesn't need Marvel shows anymore and they want to focus on their orginal content. Also Marvel actually, I could be misremembering, but I'm pretty sure Marvel actually paid for the production of the shows for the first Marvel/Netflix deal, everything leading up to and including the defenders crossover.

Great feedback. It's hard to appreciate a commentary that uses extreme narratives such as "better than the MCU" because both are great in their own regards. MCU provides greater events, grander villains and special effects. However by nature the Netflix series, particularly Daredevil gave you the ability to dig deep into the character of Mike Murdock. And the actor knocked his betrayal out the park. It also allowed for time to develop chemistry amounst other characters. I feel the same way about Punisher but I can give or take the other shows. Kudos for not rehashing another origin story. I think the MCU did a good job with Tony Stark, Steve Rogers and Black Widow character development with the time given. Netflix Marvel series and MCU fight choreography was neck-and-neck. They both hit and miss at times but some of my favorite were the ones in Daredevil. Seriously badass! Hopefully we're at the point that Disney can legally crossover Daredevil and Punisher same actors into the MCU. Talk about serious fanservice!

I just got thru season three and HOLEEEEEIII Shiiiiiiit was I on a roller coaster. The tension nearly blew my heart out of my chest. It started out slowly but in hindsight it was just in service of the journey. Corruption at every turn, self doubt in every breath, lies in every shadow and bullseye 🎯 trying to end you with every projectile. It's brilliant because they took the time to tell it correctly.

As much as I love the show and I'm sad Daredevil was canceled, personally I really think it ended at the perfect time in retrospect. After rewatching it in full like 4 times since it ended, I feel that the three seasons we have served as a perfect 3 act story that concluded on a (mostly) definitive yet still open ended note and in a satisfying way

I completely agree with you. Daredevil is one of my favorite shows ever made, I love all of it I love the characters, the acting, the writing, the awesome action sequences and the costumes. Just everything to me about this show works for me. I really really hope some day it comes back for a 4th season it was an amazing show

@@superstarultra28 almost. The show is great. Don’t get me wrong, but at least the movie shows off daredevils abilities. Granted the shows budget probably doesn’t allow that, still...Look up images of daredevil on google. More often than not he’s shown hundreds of feet off the ground. Diving. Swinging. Moving around not unlike Spider-Man. The shows great but leaves one desiring more.

And don’t even compare costumes. At least the movie has the color right. Charlie Cox is excellent though.I guess I’m more critical towards the show because it comes so close to being a masterpiece. It’s too bad it was canceled because now the only hope is with Disney and who knows what we’ll get if anything.

I'm not afraid to say it's one of the best TV shows I've ever watched. To reiterate, of any genre, not just the superhero/crime thing.

@@davischris sad part is: it has raised the bar so high, some of my old favourites don't stack up as well anymore, - especially in the fight scenes *cough dark knight trilogy*

So glad charlie has and will continue to come back as the character he played perfectly

I've binged the show 3 times, rarely do I ever do that. It's that good.

I love how Matt and fisk are two sides of the same coin but feel so different and fleshed out. The little girl scene and Matt n foggy were so powerful and how you edited them together helped so much showing that

@@Seasonal-Shadow_4674 i wouldn't say I wanna sympathise with a mad man it's more I wanna see why he's justifying it himself and why he's doing it because in the comics kingpin always sees himself as the good man and he does in the show too so to see why he thinks that as well as why Matt thinks that is great and it fleshed out the characters to make them opposites of the same ideas

I never get tired of rewatching Netflix's Daredevil.

Daredevil is the best thing to ever come from the MCU change my mind.

Beautiful essay. I agree with you in every detail. Matt gets the crap beat out of him all the time--he is easy to identify with, as superheroes go. I've never seen anything like the hallway fight, and don't think I ever will again.

@@Seasonal-Shadow_4674 I've only watch a few episodes of Arrow. I am not someone to be Marvel vs DC. I grew up reading Superman and Batman. I never read Daredevil comics or saw the movie. A blind crime fighter seemed like a Dumb idea. I was drawn in by the...intimacy of the TV show and how Murdock was very human and vulnerable. And I have never seen anything like that hallway fight scene.

High quality, and a lot of effort put into this video

All I want for the MCU Daredevil is to have the same origin as the Netflix Daredevil. I also want Charlie Cox to plah him. Just bring Daredevil in but don't change anything about him.

Well, imo I think Iron Fist is the exception. Finn Jones didn't fit the character if you ask me

Hopefully whoever does the new show handles the characters well. I think there’s lots of potential

One of the best shows i have seen in general the climax to this easily beats the ending of Breaking bad just for the intensity and climatic finale.

If I were to wager a guess, it’d be darker than every other MCU movie, but still a bit lighter than his own show

Always a pleasure to rewatch

The show does such a good job at building characters that anybody would probably say Wilson Fisk is their favorite MARVEL villian in terms of film/TV. It's unbelievable that this show understood and build the character of Punisher better than the Punisher show itself. It ending with season 3 is actually fortunate in my opinion. Because except for that adamantium Bullseye thing it ended on a very good point and nearly every storyline is finished. Maybe it would have been able to give more but even this is more than enough.

With Far From Home coming closer, I can't help but think and wish that Matt or Foggy will come in to defend Peter. When I was little I saw an episode of the old animated Spiderman show (can't remember which one exactly) where Daredevil teams up with Spiderman to fight Kingpin. Ever since Daredevil started I have wanted to see them team up in live action. This is easily the best Netflix original show and the best Marvel show, nothing else except maybe the Punisher comes close.

Gonna disagree with one of your earlier points. WandaVision and Loki especially were great, and FatWS and Hawkeye were both good. I do have the benefit of hindsight, knowing that *SPOILERS* both Cox's Daredevil and D'Onofrio's Kingpin are officially in the MCU. That being said, Daredevil is absolutely amazing, and so far none of the Disney+ series have reached its heights. But you're allowed to enjoy multiple properties at the same time.

Daredevil was a masterpiece. Also people can be negative like e fap it reacts to things and criticizes them. It is their job they can’t always be positive they wouldn’t be as successful

In a few years , 9 months we might be getting it in spider man 3

I love this show. I don't like Karen Page much because she did some bad things and didn't face any consequences, plus her character was a little contradictory. Everything else was amazing, though. As an Orthodox I liked the fact that Matt Murdock is Catholic and it was treated with respect and the things they said were actually what we believe in. I loved it so much.

You knowledge of TV between Star Trek 66 and Daredevil is clearly quite limited. Buffy and Angel had gritty and cinematic fights often. My brother when we were watching season 2 repeatedly expressed how they fights were not "realistic" how in realize everyone isn't a Ninja like they are in movies.

Manpreet lakhanpal well here’s the thing. People in my community watched Daredevil and said it was too boring, slow, stale, his suit is pathetic, and they didn’t like it. Meanwhile they all constantly brag and rave about Flash and Arrow like it’s the best. If HiTop Film’s DD Video Essay Came Out at the time, I would’ve shoved it in their faces. Also one horseshit criticism I heard was when I was in a group of people; this one person complained that marvel movies are too lighthearted and low stakes and there aren’t any risks and nobody dies and compares them to The Dark Knight and said it had “Batman beating the shit out of the joker and people dieing left and right” and when these group of people were talking about DC shows like Flash and Arrow, this prick said he “tried watching” Daredevil and said it wasn’t that good
