@@AsadKhan-ic9qi It's part of his character there since Bruce is sexually stunted due to never developing emotionally beyond that night in the alley, Batman basically crippled his natural sexual development and that is why the Joker groped him (and sexually taunts him during the whole story). Batman didn't break Joker's arm or anything else like one would expect because he could only be disgusted by that act of sexual violence due to all sexuality being unfamiliar and foreign to him, which is different from regular violence which he understands and is able to respond to.

13:02 Edward misrepresented one of Batman's most badass scenes. Joker was accusing Batman of being vain, because he leaves his jawline exposed even though it would be more practical to cover it with bulletproof armor like the rest of his cowl. Then Batman drops down and casually reveals the real reason he exposes his mouth is to mock pathetic criminal scum like Joker, which triggers Mr.J so much he kills his own right-hand man.

Personally I didn't like the ending to Damned, the wording of "I wish he were still alive" just feels really contrived and out of character to justify the ending, I don't care much they bait their dynamic as romantic, if the Joker died of a prostate cancer Bats would sleep easy for the first time in his life. I think he would've worked better if he said something to the effect of "I wish I didn't do it", reframing Batman's guilt as directed to breaking his code rather than the worst person since Hitler dying in his vicinity.

Existing is the joke, and death is the punchline to him he doesn't always have to be cracking jokes and being goofy like the golden age joker.

Also, I find it fascinating that Warren Ellis decided to reboot the entirety of the Wildstorm universe with The Wild Storm (24 Issue Maxiseries) and the first spin-off that he authorized for it…was for Deathblow 😒 I think it was released as “Michael Cray” and written by Bryan Hill (very talented writer), but how strange is it that they chose to bring it back but not immediately go into Stormwatch, the precursor to The Authority, totally for Deathblow? Addendum: I’m aware that the Stormwatch was originally meant to spin off from The Wild Storm #24, but then Warren Ellis got bombarded with accusations left and right. I just think it’s shitty that he never got the chance to see it through and instead was treated as guilty before proven innocent

In the joker comic, if I remember correctly, Batman didn’t say his armor was to mock the joker, he said that about the only hole _in_ his armor, which is the chin area. Joker asks him why he leaves that reminder to everyone that he’s just a handsome dude in a suit, and Batman says “to mock you.”

The same thing. Honestly, I love the gloom and the edgy. But the damned one is too tedious. It feels like the writers, out of boredom, added as many philosophical quotes and nudity and a little swearing as possible to make the comic "more mature", as if we didn't have the canon of comics and the previous graphic novel about Jonkler. Also, despite the beautiful artistic style, my eyes get tired of very dark tones. However, I like the Joker. P.S.: actually, I REALLY like dark artistic styles (for example, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, A serious house on a serious earth or the same Joker) but because of the boring plot and the dullness of everything, as well as the realism (in terms of drawing), it is quite tiring.

It’s one of my favorites because it’s a lot deeper than explained here especially how it’s told from Jonnys perspective and he’s trying to get out that life and he knows it’s bad but it’s dragging him back but ultimately it kills him. There’s parts where you can tell he kinda looks up to him inna way and the joker is just a destructive person that destroys the things he cares about like the part (forgot how it went) but you kinda can tell he’s mad and annoyed that jonnys sticking with him. Idk it’s deeper than I explained too but it’s good I feel like it’s an overlooked gem by a lot of people

Thank you always wanted to know which comics had this art/suit love the Noel suit. The Batman 2022’s Gotham looks very similar so that’s awesome. Also f*ck Bob Kane. P.S fully agree with you view on the Batman Who laughs. Mad overrated by people who probably don’t read that much Batman, it kinda strikes a fan fiction tbh.

These are all enjoyable, and each story elevates the others in this 'series'. I also think of them as taking place in the same parallel reality, or whatever. I don't think they're perfect, though - Damned, especially, has issues for me. For instance, Batman gets damned for killing a mass murderer? Give me a break. There's an argument to be made that he might get damned for being selfish enough to NOT kill Joker. I know ya'll have read that Punisher issue penned by Ennis? You know the one - the one with Daredevil, which serves as the 'trolley problem' for superhero comics' 'no-kill policy'. And in that comic, Ennis pretty much squashes the whole 'heroes should never kill' rule. Because it's dumb. I mean, I get it - these are good people with standards and morals, and they don't want to elevate themselves above the law. But they also have a responsibility to save innocents, and one broken, pasty white neck would save hundreds, if not more, innocent lives. I still really enjoyed Damned, it's great. Also enjoyed Darwin Cooke's Ego, which deals with Batman not killing, too, but I just don't agree with the conclusions to this black-and-white-morality argument. Batman occasionally going Punisher on a rogue or two would not send him spiraling into 'murder mode' where he turns into the Batman Who Laughs, or something (def an overused concept, if there ever was one - kinda like the Phoenix-force and mutants living on Krakoa). Batman has crazy will-power. He could take Joker out and deal with it, and Gotham would be a better place.
