@@sonnix31so what? She still plays tennis better than about 100 other women in the world. Her legacy is so important and so valuable to the game. The doors she has opened and the opportunities she has created for untold numbers of minorities cannot be ignored. Why should she not receive wild cards when she is still a major public figure and tournament draw card? She can play and do whatever she wants for as long as she wants. It’s really not for you to cast judgement on that decision.

Dany played liked a boss today . Rybakina did nothing wrong regarding her game . She had a good game plan : Solid serve , and made her opponent move around the court as much as possible . Didn’t choke . Unlocked her killer instinct when she needed to and kept her fighting spirit when she needed to . A well deserved title. I was rooting for her , and I’m glad she got this title right before retiring . Good for her 🙂

@@chay2033 Rybakina has done better than this on the move for most of this year. The Rybakina that has to stay in the middle of the baseline to win matches is gone but in this tournament she didn’t know her limitations after being sick for so long so she played a little more conservative than she has in Brisbane and Abu Dhabi and Doha. Once she starts playing tournaments in succession again and starts practicing regularly again we will start to see the Rybakina that won Brisbane without dropping a set again.

@@deusexmachina9776 let me give you the exact numbers of winners/unforced errors for both: Collins- 24 winners, 37 UEs. Rybakina- 27 winners, 41 UEs. Therefore, Collins was at -13, and Rybakina was at -14. You're making it seem that Rybakina was playing very bad and Collins was playing very good. What this stat tells analysts is that Rybakina was trying to end points quickly more than Collins because she didn't have much energy in the tank. No disrespect intended to you.

I thought exactly the same, the difference here is that Aryna does it on a shot basis (I hate it!), it’s consistent, unfortunately, so it cant be labelled as a hindrance by the referee but Danielle started to do it end of first set … I watched her playing 3 tournaments ago and I’d never heard her grunting, only end of first set at a point where had it gone to Elena, the match might have turned out more difficult for Danielle … same pathetic trick of Andy Murray

I’ve been following Danielle for years. She has played some amazing tennis while dealing with medical issues. Two tournament wins and almost winning in Australia. Then the Miami win. She didn’t just win, she dominated the whole tournament. She lost the first game of the first match, one the next two 6-1 6-1. She never lost another game and all by playing against really good opponents. When she is healthy and on her game she is dominant. She plays up on the back line which is intimidating, although for the first time I’ve ever seen, she made an adjustment and played a bit back yesterday. She has a nasty serve and some of her most consistent serving throughout the tournament. When she’s on, her backhand is devastating and she had great accuracy throughout along with her forehand. Awesome win and so happy for her.

Good for “Danimal” to win this 1000 tourney in her home state before retirement. I know she is not the fan favorite of many people because of the screaming and her on court demeanor. If she was a man, I think she would be far more popular With her game face and highly competitive nature. 🇺🇸 women’s tennis will miss her when she’s gone after the year. Coco is the only other top 🇺🇸 playing well these days (Navarro has a long way to go to be competitive in GS’s)

Why not go for true cross court or true down the line and put destiny of the point on YOUR racquet???????
