If you watched the match the forehand wasn't good, the first set was extremely close. Zheng then fell apart, Gauff did play well, but Zheng was very poor.

Not true. She lost her serve for the 5-3 game which is why the match became close. Everything else held up. Zheng didn’t play bad at all. She had less unforced errors than Coco in the first set. Coco grinder Zheng down.

Coco’s raw athleticism was never in question… with this ability she’s developed to hit shots with precision, she’s fast developing into a dangerous player across all surfaces! The semifinal against Iga will be a fun one! 😊💪🏻

Coco's forehand has improved. Her movement on clay is so smooth and beautiful to watch. She has been the best returner this season. Good for her especially with all the double faults. Her serve is more potent but at the moment she hasn't perfected it so it's creating lots of double faults when she misses the first serve but when that first serve goes in, it's a beauty. She's going to test herself against Iga again in the next round. It'll be a fun match. She doesn't have a good record against Iga. Tough match ahead.

All I want is her First serve to go in. If it's. What a interesting game it will be. With coco IGA doesn't get plenty winners. She always feeds on Coco's forehand errors and double faults. Eg. WTA final last year.

Gotta love Coco. I saw her play at the 2020 AO against Sofia Kenin. She was 15 and lost the game but her potential was obvious. Kenin eventually won the title that year.

The way Zheng plays tennis is so fun She just wants to attack and attack and attack Love it so much. However she’s horrible defensively Hence, the reason she struggles with players who attack just like her but defend even better and Coco is an excellent defender

She’s not the first & won’t be the last with mechanical issues on her serve she’ll figure it out anyway her serve didn’t look to bad especially in that 2nd set

the next match is Gauff vs Swiatek and it can be really interesting to watch, Gauff really improved her game but so far she was not able to beat Iga on clay

WTA you should improve your highlights. SportsBox makes it longer and much better, has more views.

I’m the first to criticise coco, mainly when she double faults 17 times and makes way too many errors lol. but when she plays like this it’s polar opposites. This is the real coco Gauff, the one that won us open and has went toe to toe with iga and sabalenka at their best. She had the double fault on break point which did not help her but hey what can I say, Superb play other than that, nice.
