5 years later, this is still the best lap I've ever seen. I can't understand how he can carry so much speed into Casino. 2018 RedBull's Chasis was made specifically for the Monaco circuit and it really shows. I really want Ric to be Max's teammate, if its his day he's really special.

You watch this and then watch his onboard in a Mclaren and you can see the big difference is he isn't able to carry the speed into the corner like he did in the RB. With the front end confidence he didn't need to brake late and carry speed, he could brake less aggressive and carry a lot of speed and manage it without compromising his exit speeds. However in the Mclaren, it has a weak front end, strong back end. In order to drive fast he needs to drive complete opposite to what makes him one of the fastest. It's exactly what happened to Kimi as team-mate to Alonso at Ferrari. Alonso smashed him that season by big margins just like Lando is doing to Daniel now. It's because that Ferrari was made with a strong rear end (Alonso preference). Kimi prefers a car with a strong front end, same as Daniel.

The 2014 Ferrari wasn't oversteer and understeer, it's both, neither Alonso or Kimi preference if you had that kind of car. The fact that Alonso could drove that car and dragged them fight with Williams & Red Bull was just insane.

I think it would be good for Daniel to win a championship. Not just because of huge honey badger bollocks & clean racing style, although it doesn't hurt. He is pretty much the best ambassador for the sport. There's not an ounce of jaded, world-weariness about him, nor is he prone to fits of callow petulance.

Nx Doyle like it or not, Lewis is fhe best ambassador for the sport. Since 2007, f1 profit is bigger for 53%. There is a reason why he has the most followers on instagram. Doesnt matter if you like his jet set lifestyle or not, he is the main reason why f1 is getting more popular.

Semtex The only fair comparison is with your team mate and the same car. Ricciardo beat Vettel 3-0 in 2014 at Red Bull. Ricciardo beat Max Verstappen in 2016-2017 and so far in 2018 too. Vettel only beats over the hill older drivers like Webber and Raikkonen. "Und dass Ricciardo 2014 besser als Vettel war, hatte nur mit den Autos zu tun, die 2014 stark verändert wurden." Yeah, and a truly good driver can *adapt* to changing car you rationalizing clown. Never bothered Senna, Prost, Schumacher or Hamilton. Not Alonso either. What a lousy excuse - the entire team was built around him are you completely daft? Vettel has never won a race from lower than 3rd on the grid. So his race craft is comparatively poor. He can only win from the front. If Raikkonen retires and Ferrari signs Ricciardo we'll see the same thing again. This is why Vettel insists on keeping Raikkonen all these seasons. Because his best years are long gone and likes Ferrari paying him millions to be a back-up driver.

Übrigens, Verstappen ist schneller als Ricciardo ! Er muss nur noch lernen, sich besser unter Kontrolle zu haben.

I raced in SCCA and IMSA in the 1970's, so I've driven some truly fast cars in anger, including a few hot laps in an old ex-Jochen Rindt Lotus 49 F1 car at the old Riverside track in California, but watching Daniel's pole lap broke my friggin' brain! I honestly don't know how you can get your brain to process the necessary information fast enough to keep from crashing!

Daniel Hamdi I honestly never thought we'd see a 1:10 at Monaco. Up until last year the benchmark was always 1:13.5/6 so to go nearly 3 seconds quicker on a tiny track is insane. Mainly due to the hypersofts but still I was shocked last year when they finally dipped into the 12's.

Sam Dianto Oversteering through here allows for a more acute angle of attack, and resultant the car rotates around the bend faster, assuming one doesn't Bork it up, which is possible if a driver is not in total control or attempts a hasty or jerky recovery. This is throttle dependent traction modulation, totally controlled & desired. This is the perfect way to get on the power as fast as possible through this turn based on Its angle into and out of being perfect for a little flick around. Go brush up on under and oversteer as tools by which one controls the radius arc of their machine; knowing when to use them, and knowing how to maintain trajectory with smooth wheel control, into the slide, are basically fundamental skills in serious race driving where power and handling permit, single seaters being exemplary. (Daniel doesn't bork anything though.)

Pervy Sage but how to make ghost car? If your perspective is onboard from one car, you dont have footage of the other car from behind to make a ghost like in PC game. It would have to be “ghost track” on one of the 2 onboard videos which would suck
