The logical conclusion is that people's actions say nothing about a religion; only its texts do. If the texts don't advocate stealing, for example, then you can't blame the text for those actions. Otherwise, someone writing a book about not killing people would be responsible if any of its readers decide to kill people.

I had what I hoped to be a healthy conversation with a former friend who is Muslim. She tried telling me multiple inadequacies about Christianity. I acknowledged her confusion in some areas, but tried to educate her on others. When it was time to discuss her religion, she called me Islamophobic, and chastised me. She now has blocked me despite me being the same person who she runs to with troubles in her life. I told her I apologize for whatever I did to hurt you because Romans 12:18 states to have peace with everyone, as long as it depends on you. But two things I know for sure, she’s not a real friend and Islam is NOT a religion of peace.

Afghans had the tools, weaponry to FIGHT the Taliban, but they refused. Also, the Taliban were aiding Americans to the airport. The Taliban are NOT good guys but they are enemies with ISIS.

@@ACyrrock004 No. Better research instead of blabbering. The Afghan forces suffered a major setback when the US contractors withdrew along with US troops. The entire Afghan Air Force was grounded because of that. There was rampant corruption in the Afghan National Army as the majority of the soldiers were ghost soldiers. And the most important factor, the Pakistanis heavily aided the Afghan Taliban as they're doing that since decades. By the way, wanna describe how those Taliban térròr!sts "aided" the Americans at the airport ? You sympathize with those Taliban tèrròr!sts, don't you ?

I think the real issue with all these discussions about whether or not Islam is a religion of peace is that...more fundamentalist muslims around the world don't even think that this kind of peace that we here in the west are talking about (so for example...freedom of expressing oneself without being attacked for it etc. pp.) is even a good or desirable thing. They don't WANT that kind of "western peace" - they want their cultural/ social/ religious system installed and maintained by force - whether it is on the private or state level - because they think it is the only right one and because the idea in Islam to "earn your way up to heaven" - even on the cost of others - is not exactly in the way of it. So all these discussions are rather futile as it is usually a moderate/ modern/ "westernized" muslim discussing and defending their own idea of their religion in a heated debate with a westerner - but they basically both share the same civilizational values - which are NOT shared by at least a majority of muslims. So it is kind of a fake discussion up in their ivory tower so to say. The real question should be how to reach and gently convince the "average Joe", more fundamentalist muslim to dare to take a careful look at their religion (not their faith), acquire more knowledge about it (and lots of other issues as well) that then enables them to think critically and without fear or ignorance and to start moderinzing it. And that doesn't have to mean westernize or modify. Simply modernize.

The book of "Peace" provides... The Quran’s Sura 5:33 says about infidels, “They shall be slain or crucified, or have their hands and feet cut off.” Sura 9:5 says, “Slay the infidels wherever you find them ... and lie in wait for them ... and establish every stratagem (of war against them).” Sura 47:4-9 promises paradise to whoever cuts off the head of an infidel.

Hold this debate in Saudi and all answers will be apparent.

I have only just seen this now and this is more relevant now than ever. Actions always speak louder than words and in the Muslim world it has always shown to NOT be peaceful. I understand, from Uzbekistan. That's why I want my son to move to a different country, I don't feel him being save here. It's the main reason why I intend to teach him English and French, so that he can leave. At least him. I don't know what will happen here within the next 30-50 years in Uzbekistan and I'm scared for my son's safety. He's only 1 year old and I'm scared. If you dare say you are not into Islam, there will be consequences here. So, I want my son to live in a country where he can study, work without fearing

literally no they dont, majority of muslims are completely against them. how can we not be victims of islamaphobia when we have literally been victims of discrimination, violence and a breach of basic human rights. just because the taliban quote and justify their actions usng the Qur'an doesnt mean the rest of us support the same view and interpret the same words that way. from the beginning of Islam we were taught that verses are contextual and the actual arabic language used has a intense amount of depth and meaning enveloped within an already complex language. but to be very honest with you the west fails to uphold western governments to the same accountability. did the US not claim to occupy Afghanistan simply to keep the taliban away? we must ask ourselves why this is the case. it is mind-boggling that the conversation always is turned around to a quarter of the humanity as accusations of promotion of violence and oppression are thrown around lightly, and not onto government officials and those with political power on both sides of the issue, both the taliban and the americans. to be very frank, i think as a muslim who has been taught that the some of the most important things in islam are education and peace, i am encouraged to be hyperaware of my beliefs, actions, thoughts, who i support and my general life views and attitudes. so being upset because people will not acknowledge the discrimination that i have felt based off my religion and because they are telling me that i support an oppressive rule is wrong. its like saying that all white people are racist because there are a minority that is discriminating against black people in a certain area, you cannot generalize.

Muslims ruled India, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Jordon, etc., for more than a 1000 years and still there are a lot of non-muslims peoples in these counteries, if Islam is what you said is, how can you explain 10% of egyptian people being christians after 1440 years under islam rule.

The regions comprising eastern Pakistan had full Hindu majority. Today they are nowhere to be found. There are 2% minorities in Pakistan from 14% and 8% minorities in Bangladesh from 23%. Leave Pakistan or Bangladesh, Kashmir one of the two Muslim majority regions of India wiped out its minority. Islamic militancy caused an exodus of the Kashmiri Hindu population. Hindus are now less than 0.25% there. That region was once Hindu majority with Buddhist influence. None of them exist now. Apart from that, several Hindu temples destroyed, Buddhism greatly declined under Islamic rule, two Sikh gurus were brutally tortured by Islamic rulers. Anything else ? Watch out before typing anything. By the way, Zoroastrianism no longer exists in Iran, thanks to Muslim rulers.
