I am a Kashmiri Pandit and my mother personally knows Achint and his family. She also immediately called her friend (Achint's sister) as soon as she saw this. The acount that Achint has given is NOTHING compared to how horrifyingly his father was assassinated. He was tortured the entire night (with cigarette butts etc.), his house was surrounded by Islamic terrorists and his father was later found in a dry well the next day. He was so young when this happened and my mother recalled everything as soon as she heard what I was watching! I am absolutely shattered by how some people did not let him talk about his viewpoints. This Middle Ground video represents the political situation of the country very well nowadays and how absolutely DIFFICULT it has become to express viewpoints and even state facts. At the same time, I am nothing but PROUD of Achint and the way he spoke. He was an absolute gentleman, so soft spoken and my heart cries for him because he was surrounded with such insensitive people. THIS IS EXACTLY what infuriates Kashmiri Pandits in this country. I am glad we still take our space, even though exactly like some people here would not want us to do that.

I hated how they were all just silent when they came to sit down. It's one thing to be tongue tied but how did NOBODY even say 'I am sorry for your loss'? And when Kabir eventually said it he was criticised! Saying 'I am sorry for your loss' is NOT the same as taking blame!!! It's a way of expressing sympathy!!!! Absolutely! Hindus are being potrayed all over the world as the opressors of the minority class. But I am sure that so many of the Hindus will never agree over declining the rights of any other minority and help them grow n develop when we see them around us, be it in schools, clgs, workplaces etc. But still the narrative is being pushed in a way that shows such Hindus dont exist(as I mentioned above), I do condemn the extremist Hindu class and we dont support them at all. Apologising and being apologetic are 2 different aspects. Feeling apologetic does not mean that you directly caused a problem but you feel remorse and shame for what happened to the other person. I find it strange when Pallavi started discussing about how Hindus should apologise or feel remorse for Mosques being burnt. Why should a Hindu who has not caused a Mosque to burn be made to feel apologetic? The rules change when it’s the other way round isn’t it? Double standards much 🤷‍♀️ A middle ground can only ever be attained when a community is objective and is able to introspect within rather than solely celebrating victimhood. If someone from your community makes a mistake or commits a crime in the name of the religion that is wrong and that action would have ruined someone’s life so yes be apologetic about it and condemn what that person from your community did. That is the mature, objective and truly unbiased way to deal with sensitivity.

Hinduism has different school of thoughts, Instrinsically even a nasthik (atheist) is a hindu (not just for name, but it is a school of thought within hinduism), None of the Abrahamic religion have this particular concept.

Achint is the only person who has suffered due to this hindu-msulim rivalry. Achint is the only person who was talked over most of the time. That's a great reflection of how we're dealing with this problem.

i mean, she stated false historical records & as soon as Achint mentioned the record of temples demolished in kashmir, she and the other guy were like “so we’re keeping records now?” (Various materials have been found during excavation which suggest the presence of a Hindu structure beneath. Also, The Supreme Court noted that the Babri Masjid was not built on a vacant land and the excavated underneath structure was not Islamic in nature)

Settling score is an English expression which means entirely different thing than keeping records. Someone had done you wrong, and you are doing him wrong now in return is "settling scores". On to your point of excavation: If there is a Mosque in place, how come you could excavate there. You must demolish it first to see if there is anything else underneath. Isn't it?

Pallavi has the sirname 'Sharma' which is also a hindu sirname. But as she married a muslim and and has issues with the religion she was born in, she should change her sirname, to a muslim sirname. She's also a part of a very hypocrite political party here in India INC, which pays less attention to religious rights of the majority religious group here in Indian .

im outraged by how blinded pallavi is!! she is clearly if not indirectly taking the side of one religion throughout the whole video and this debate was not an equal one at all. we would urge you to invite actual hindus to this debate, who are educated and truly know their religion, i sense a liberandu here. also, coming from a kashmiri pandit ancestry myself, i completely empathise with achints' situation and am extremely heartbroken and angered by how his fathers' assassination was not taken into sight and was arrogantly brushed aside. achint, we are very sorry for what happened and would do anything in the world to change the past of kashmir and the GENOCIDE that took place upon kashmiri hindu pandits. very ashaming. JAI SHREE RAM, the temple is magnificently beautiful.

Yeah pallavi and Ali were really rude and insensitive, I like Anchint,kabir and zarah. The other hindu guy barely spoke anything cuz of pallavi taking up all time and Ali "that's not my problem"

As an Afghan Muslim, it was heartbreaking to hear about Achint's past but it was absolutely infuriating to listen to people's reactions to that. Like how hard is it to empathize with someone who has had to ho through something as painful as that? Kudos to you Achint for your patience and for not hating us Muslims. Respect. I am indian and in my college there are many Afghani studying engineering , we love them a lot . The time was hard for them when Taliban took over but we tried as much to make them feel home . I LOVE AFGHANIS SOO MUCH

Absolutely disgusting, how the Kashmiri pandit was shut down just for saying the truth, “are we settling scores ?”, no remorse, for the genocide of Kashmiri pandits,the thousands of temples destroyed and mosques built over.

What was the point of his comment if not settling scores? His detractors said those things happened and were terrible. They also pointed out that the destruction of temples doesn't justify the destruction of masjids. Both are bad and should stop.

@@itr8247 He wasn't referring to that masjid. He was referring to temples in Kashmir. I'm also not sure why Muslims of today should suffer because of something Muslims of the past did (i.e. building a masjid on top of a temple). There is a middle ground that doesn't result in continued suffering on either side. To do otherwise is just settling scores.

@@writerchick94 Hindus are not asking for every destroyed temple to be returned They are asking only 3 temples tk be returned. Having mosque on that site is also illegal in Islam.

Imagine if Hindus invaded Saudi Arabia and built a Mandir on top of Medina or Mecca. There is a clear double standard here.

@@mariatheresavonhabsburg Thousands of H!ndu temples were demolished. But H!ndus wanted reconstruction of just a few of them (2 to be precise) coz the t€mples were too important to be left in ruins. They appealed the court multiple times, and the court could not do anything abt it, coz the M0sque was standing right at the T€mple's location. They appealed the Buslims to peacefully hand over the place. But they didn't ( even though the m0sque wasn't special to them in anyway ) Thus the H!ndus broke the M0sque and now a T€mple is finally being constructed there. If Buslims really wanted to move forward, then they could have easily handed over the sacred place to the H!ndus. But they didn't, which goes on to prove their stubbornness. And granting forgiveness to such ppl feeds their ego. Sometimes, retaliation is necessary for keeping ur existence and self-worth alive.

@@Whytfyouhere You're demanding them to hand over a temple? Ofcourse they'll refuse. You could have made a deal, offering compensation, take the necessary time to solved this peacefully. But you acted with violence, broke down their temple. Ofcourse they're going to be angry. How can you move forward, peacefully, if one side is going to resort to violence and forcefully take land away? I see one clear aggressor in this story.

Exactly. One of the two Hindu supporters was very weak and nervous. One of the 4 Muslims was a rabid Islamist, with affiliations to a corrupt and anti-national political party. The other three Muslims appeared insensitive sometimes and sometimes faking an insincere empathy. This conversation was rigged from start.

She is the type who wants "special privilege" in everything she does. Her opinions are more important, her citations and references are more reliable, her narrative is more accurate, and she gets to decide which "temple/mosque" destruction should be discussed and which should not be discussed.

Graham Stephan a youtber went on one of these episodes and he explained that alot of the talk doesn't make it into the final cut so maybe there's a reason as to why her points made it

Why do you think she isn't a hindu? just curious. Could be that she still carries out hindu practsies and belives in the hindu faith but her marriage has made her see the other side so she shares a different view from other Hindus?
