Daniel Craig is such a a good Bond, not a charming Bond but more rugged and dark. He made the character so real, before, Bond was just a hot guy who got everything his way. Bonds attitude towards women during Craig's run makes perfect sense after setting up why he's like that in Casino Royale. He fell in love. He felt betrayed by his love and then lost her. His calluses for the rest of the series feels more justified because of that. Classic Bond womanizing was just because 007 liked to bang broads. Craig's 007 womanizing feels like a response to trauma.

Well, remember, in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service(1969), Bond got married, but then his wife got shot by Blofeld in a drive-by. He cuts off Anya’s listing of his dossier in The Spy Who Loved Me when she says that he was “married once, wife killed”(“all right, you’ve made your point”) and he visits Tracy’s grave with flowers in the beginning of For Your Eyes Only. As far as the Classic timeline goes, Bond still has a soft spot for the one woman he loved more than anyone else.

friend of mine was his bodyguard for the scenes in the alps in Spectre, and he said Craig is super nice, down to earth and he told me one anecdote. When they shot in the mountains the time of shooting depended on the weather, so sometimes they had days when everything got cancelled within the hour cause a storm showed up. Craig, kinda annoyed that he had to idle, told him that he wanted to go into town, walk around and grab a coffee. This usually meant that he had to call that in, get the whole caravan of bodyguards and cars, but Craig was like nope, were not doing that, just you and me buddy. Put on a big ol winter hat, sun glasses and walked around some small town, where people knew James Bond was being filmed, yet none the wiser he was walking among them haha. And Craig was really interested in him and afterwards thanked him for doing this off the books so to say.

What I love about Craig's bond most is that he truly made Bond charming in his own way. Rugged, brave, charming sorta bond, rather than the slick Pierce Brosnan style. Both types of bonds are charming in their own ways, one simply cannot compare, but instead should appreciate these actors for infusing their own interpretations and personalities into Bond

My friend worked closely with him on the first Bond film. This is him, it's not Bond. Daniel can be prickly. He's come along way since the first film. They sent him (as they do with most new actors) to 'interview school'. The production trained him to put up with and be polite when being asked stupid questions like: What's your favorite color? He's come along way since then. He looks way happier in interviews now. My friend said when he started on the first film he was 'difficult' to say the least.

to be fair, the cast is doing press AGAIN for a movie that was supposed to come out TWO years ago and the majority of questions they get are not original or thought-provoking, so they're often rehashing the same stories and trivia over and over again. so yea, i mean, i get how he comes off here. if you deal boring cards to the actors, you get boring results. anyways, i'm glad he got one more movie in to tie up the loose ends and i'll miss him as Bond! edit: ?? some people seem to be misreading my comment. nowhere did i minimize the global pandemic (which, yes, is still ongoing, and yes, is why the delays happened). my original comment is about the SETUP of lackluster interviews and mind numbingly uninspired press perhaps, MAYBE, contributing to an actor's attitude during it. there are some other *recent* No Time to Die interviews that have way better atmosphere, some actually interesting questions, and are entertaining for both the actors and viewers. that's all :)

The gadgets don't really fit the tone set up by Casino Royale. Craig's first two movies were committed to the whole "gritty reboot" thing then it got kind of weird when they tried to reincorporate the campier elements. If the movies before the Craig saga didn't exist Bond's car suddenly having an ejector seat would have been pretty weird.

Craig played almost exactly what a man in his position would be. Broken, driven, almost used up but still have a few good fights left, sad and in denial, over compensates in every task. Longing to have his heart filled but knowing he will never have it. I didn't like Craig at first but now he is by far the best. Connery was the ultimate screen candy and in the early days was what we wanted a Bond to be. Craig is exactly what a real Bond would likely be. Messed up, nearly broken and driven by inner demons of a very personal nature. Craig will never be properly replaced.

He interviews about Bond a little like he plays him - this brashness, contempt, hurried feel to these questions. Craig is my favorite Bond because I read two of Fleming’s books and I think Craig’s performance is truest plus showed a great arc through the five films (I was crying at the end of the last one). If you think this is just how Craig is- watch him do an interview for another film and you’ll see a different side. He’s doing that interview with James Bond’s brashness (watch the way he flips each card to the floor and is dismissive of the bad questions) and it’s really cool to see.

The bond actor he resembles the most is Dalton. He was a ahead of his time when he chose to play the part how it was written in the books. I loved him both the living daylights and license to kill. I don’t think Craig could have done Bond the same way like Connery, lazenby, Moore or Brosnan. They were all good but all had many similar aspects to the role. After the borne identity movies it wouldn’t make sense to go back to that kind of Bond. Dalton and Craig will be two of my favorites to play Bond.

I used to think Dalton as well until Craig came along. It's subjective of course. I think Craig captures a real spy better.

I just saw the movie. I don't know how to feel about it. I am so sad that this is Mr. Craig's last turn as James Bond. I know that he has had a love/hate relationship with the role but I have loved him in the role and I am 100% sure that he could do at least another Bond. He is in incredible shape and has just continued to grow in the role. I know it is not going to happen and I know this was meant to be his send off but really, think about doing another. I am 68 and maybe have only another one or two Bond movies in my life. I would love for it to be Mr. Craig. Deborah

Nothing wrong with Craigs outfit and he got the body to wear it! It's early sixties fashion. Sean Connery wore sand brushed light red and blue for his first films. Craig's style is pure retro and on point. I paid lots for T's in those colours!
