Jon's fighting style in general reminds of those try-hards who use the cheapest tactics in games in order to win.

I expect this to be a sport of warriors. Warriors that look at an opponent challenging their legacy and train to kick their fucking ass. There are still a lot of fighters with that kind of hunger, but it’s an unfortunate state of the sport. Right now we’re living in the world of inactive champions. Fighters taking massive time off fighting when they should be crushing their challengers trying to take their title. Jones name will forever be mentioned as the greatest to ever fight. That won’t change from what’s happening now. But he’s not dead yet. He’s still in this sport and still had a bunch of legacy to protect. Right now he’s really hurting his legacy by acting so…cowardly. That’s what he’s doing. He’s acting weak and afraid. Afraid of this deadly young fighter trying to dethrone him. Where the rage? The confidence, the passion, the dog? Where’s the hunger? Jones is the greatest to ever do it, why doesn’t he wanna shut that rookie up and beat him down permanently? Instead he wants to waste the strength he has left on a fighter who no one expects to give him much of a challenge. Hes complacent. It’s sad.

everytime in ufc, when the champ gets injured, the replacement fights the original contender for the interim belt. Dana KNOWS both Aspinall and Pavlovich (replacements for jon) would have wrecked Stipe, who is a 42 year old man that literally needed crutches to walk into stadiums. Stipe never was a contender, in his last fight he got KOed by nagnnou...4 years ago 💀. @@HGB1532 A champ calling out someone, and then not being able to fight that person is literally how the Interim belt was made (unless the champ vacated) The replacement vs the original contender, where the winner fights the champ when he’s back. We saw it with Pereira and Jamahal very recently too, so yes, the ufc does still work like that. The reason why you are defending this fight here is bcz of your bias towards Jones, where he not only is holding the belt hostage, he is refusing to fight the actual contender, and Dana protecting Stipe by not putting him against Aspinall or Pavlovich. Even a blind guy can see the blatant political aspect of this case, where the entire hw division is put on hold and possibly being ruined, as the Champ can’t fight, The replacement never fought the contender, Jones literally admitting this “old man” is an easy fight and he wants that 15mil, and The Interim champ being forced to sit down and wait 💀 all bcz “jones is the goat”

@@axelblaze4088 First, that’s not how the interim was created. The UFC has match making and the champion doesn’t always call for his opponent. Can you name a time in which the Champ (not the UFC) called his opponent and got injured thus leading to an interim fight. If you can’t that would make this an unprecedented situation. It seems here, the UFC is honoring JJ request (for several reasons). I’m not that invested in JJ, the UFC or the HW title. I simply don’t see the problem with JJ fighting Stipe since it was already set in motion. Maybe you should consider a career in MMA as a fighter, trainer, commentator.. something. You seem really passionate about this.

Most champs who got injured in recent memory vacated the belt, such as Jiri, Jamahal, GSP etc. This "set in motion" arguments doesn't really mean shit. Especially since 1)The Contender who was fighting the Champ, should still fight the Backup (who was aspinall or pavlovich). 2)Interim belt literally = as soon as the champion comes back, they first unify the belts and then the "motion" can start again. You saying They are honouring Jones' request for any reason is quite clearly a showcase of bias here. Giving him special privilege over an ENTIRE DIVISION is bs. Again, This whole fight was built just to make Jones fight a 42 year old guy who needs crutches to walk, Stipe was NEVER a contender for the belt, he was out for 4 years, and didn't do shit to get a title shot. I don't in any way believe that Stipe will be an easy fight for Jon, even if it might be easiER, but there's something I've been pondering for the last week or two. Do you think Jon is more likely to fight whoever the IC is at that point if he wins, or if Stipe wins and then retires? Imo, his legacy would be better if he took the risk of fighting Tom or Curtis and losing than if he doesn't fight them at all, and I don't think either of them abd/or Stipe would be bad losses to have. Very few greats go out on wins, and it hasn't tarnished GSP at all, but Khabib has (justifiably, imo, especially considering how padded his record is) received a ton of criticism for bowing out so early and with few title defenses. I think the same would be true for Jon, despite his work at LHW, especially considering that he left that division on what should've been a loss

Tom could lose to Curtis. HW is crazy. But imo Aspinall is best HW in UFC today. So it feels disappointing for the GOAT and current official HW champ by UFC, to not fight him imo

If Jones Didn’t have that fight with Reyes which many including myself felt he lost. I don’t think the outcry to fight Tom would be as big. Tom is seen in the way Reyes was seen on his rise maybe even better seeing that he claimed a title. Whether interim champion or not it’s still an accolade. I think that’s why people are upset because in the court of public opinion his last fight prior to Gane he lost. And then was gifted a very green Gane and has now held a belt that he’s not been competing for. On top of that After the Reyes fight took a significant amount of time off to duck smoke. And now is fighting an out of prime Stipe who’s last fight was getting slept by a guy who left the company has Heavyweight king it’s just messy. There’s an argument to be made that Jones doesn’t stay undefeated and his Career isn’t viewed the same way had he stayed active after his Reyes fight. His days were numbered at 205 so he went to a far less talented division.

DC vs stipe would be more appealing than Jon jones vs stipe l. This is just marketing to casuals which will sell. Real fans aren't excited for this fight but we will still watch it. Fight just doesn't make sense at this point. Unless he pulls a GSP. Does Stipe love that life like GSP, where martial arts and training is your life even when you're not fighting? Able to come back after multi year hiatus and win back the belt in spectacular fashion. Not saying Stipe wasn't the greatest heavyweight ever. Just think people would rather see Aspinal vs. Jones.

Tom Aspinall legitimately has more right to be considered the HeavyWeight champion. I think 80% of the community views him as such. If this were medieval ages, all of the loyalty and authority of the kingdom would be given to SIR Tommy Aspinall. Na-na-na-nana-nana-na-na-na. I'm a Jones nut hugger and from my perspective he needs to fight Tom before he retires. The fact that the UFC fumbled the bag with Jon and Francis is such a loss for the fans and the sport. If Jon and Tom never fight I think it would impact Jon's legacy(at heavyweight).

@@DynastyIcon I did specify heavyweight only. Jon's legacy at light heavyweight is untouchable but if he retires with only fighting Gane and the ghost of Stipe at heavyweight it would be very hypocritical considering the ages of most of Jon's light heavyweight opponents.

Jones is so far ahead in legacy he doesn't need a title fight with Stipe. He could just vacate belt. Fight Stipe then retire. Even Stipe doesn't care for the title. He really is just holding up the division. Him fighting Pereira does nothing for his legacy as well. Truth of the matter, defeating a Prime Aspinall would be more impressive than an older Stipe that's coming off a massive KO three years ago. Jiri and Jamahal handled their injuries well. Vacated and came back to compete.
