You know it's personal if an MMA match turns into a boxing match.

Stipe doesn't get enough credit for this trilogy. I know this wasn't peak DC, but to be KOd in the 1st fight, be getting outclassed in the 2nd fight & turning it around masterfully to win by finish himself was special. Then to finish it off he outclassed DC over 5 rounds. Was phenomenal to watch.

You are no DC fan. To this day I am sick and tired of hearing about numerous eyepokes from DC which were never there. The first fight DC poked stipe in the eye which looked super intentional. After that no eyepokes were there. At least not intentional. Even knuckles to the eye which stipe reacted were termed as eyepokes God knows why... Moreover couple of eyepokes (unintentional) from stipe were there as well (before the 3rd fight). If someone insists about DC poking multiple times then please put time stamps in their fights which is in ufcespanol official channel.

I’m not a huge UFC fan, but Cormier was a great champion and was able to bow out with his head held high. He had nothing to prove and was on top for a long time. It’s a shame his last fight was during Covid in an empty arena.

The ref rubbing his eyes when asking for a good clean fight was beautiful foreshadowing

Vettori blocked it with his ugly cinder block head and no sold it. Everyone thought that that head kick won Costa the second round, even though he was loosing the round. Whittaker/Romero. DC is a POS. The only reason he EVER beat Stipe were eye pokes. DC watched tape of Stefan's win over Miocic and decided that was his only hope. Seriously. DC is a POS, I've got no respect for him whatsoever and I can't figure out why anyone does.

Larone I really appreciate the fight highlights but I think what sets this channel apart is adding the build up for the fights.

He's quite resilient at taking a punch, provided he sees shots coming. All his KO losses came when he didn't see a shot coming, although Ngannou caught him with such a perfect check hook it probably wouldn't have mattered even if he saw the punch coming, as Ngannou has freak power and Miocic ran straight into it.

What a fight! Damn, I forgot about that nasty eye poke from Miocic. I know it wasn't intentional, and DC had one of his own. Great performance by both men, true warriors in and out of the cage.

But seriously , in slomo it looks like Stipe's finger goes into his eye up to the middle knuckle and gets caught in the corner of his eye socket. How the hell did DC keep fighting.

Two legends who both out on a master class performance. That was a close fight, but Stipe deserved a split decision over DC; very close fight.

Stipe got his revenge with that eye poke, deserved

Those liver punch was no joke.😂

Now that DC is retired it really was an honor watching his fights the past decade. The battles with Jones and Stipe are legendary

In both the second and third fight... Both eyepokes (against both of them) were deemed by the referee as "punches" , when they are clearly pokes. Well aware that its superhard for the referee to see it and it happens extremly fast and often on the side where the referee aint. UFC can fix this easy by either allowing technology that detects eyepokes or "eyepoke" referee that only check for that stuff, and can fast and easy "pause" the fight for investigaion and rest for the fighter that got eyepoked. The "5 min rule" is pure bs though, some injuries takes longer time to recover from. If its not the main event, the fight should be restarted in its entierty after the main event with both fighters fresh, and maybe 1 fighter coming in to that fight with -1 point due to the eyepoke. There are lots that can be done, but noone does anything... Just waiting for when one of Danas favorites gets eyepoked out of a championship for this madness to end and things to start change.

Agreed and there needs to be points taken for the first eye poke no more warnings. Fighters know it’s illegal accident or not

I was always impressed by DCs ability to dodge a shot.

When there is no crowd you really realise that they really are smacking each other, what they go through is incredible

I would still pay to see #4

As a massive fan of DC this is probably the most heartbreaking fight of all time.

I have to give him credit for the wrestling skill he showed against Gane. But i think DC would destroy him like he did with Derrick. Especially before his back problems.

2:42 for such a natural and instinctive wrestler, I'm surprised he didn't level change and take advantage of Stipe walking forward swinging. Wasn't much distance to cover either.

I don’t care what anybody says it’s the only reason dc lost the second and third fight. He didn’t wrestle at all in the third fight and only in the first round in their second fight. One of the best wrestlers in mma and all he wanted to do is strike with stipe. His corner was screaming at him to go for takedowns all throughout the third fight it’s very bizzare

This fight deserved a crowd.

This really was a battle of gentlemen. Both men well balanced fighters, professionals and all around good men. Neither over gifted or jackpot genetics but Both are intelligent and hard workers. Stipes accent mixed with some punch drunk is rough sometimes though I know. But the dude literally fights fires 😅 DC should have invested in a nutritionist and ran middleweight

If a trilogy ever proved all it takes is one lucky shot to win a fight, this one did.

This fight was a lot closer than people make it seem. I had it 48-47 for Stipe but 49-46 for Stipe is just terrible. DC won rounds 1 and 4 pretty clearly.

@@Doma2579 If you don't, then you are not using the scoring criteria. Damage trumps all, and DC stunned Stipe with a punch, out-damaging all of Stipes work. Clear round 1 for DC.
