He teaches at Gilroy, California. I was just at a kickboxing tournament that was right next to his academy this Saturday and got brutalized. I just thought it was a weird coincidence lol

Dagestani's don't like to be acknowledged as Russian for the most part. I visited Dagestan for 3 weeks and what I found interesting is that they still view themselves as a separate country and believe they'll have independence again. Funnily enough one of their biggest issues with being acknowledged as Russian is that Russia has a reputation for alcohol, namely vodka. Because Dagestan is a Muslim state they strongly dislike being linked to a country with such deep rooted reputation in liquor.

I recommend everyone to read up on his backstory. Besides the amazing fact that he was champion in two different weight classes, he suffered a lot. Losing his child, fighting someone that was using PEDS for his most important match and more

Fun fact: I DJ’d his wedding! I wasn’t really a UFC fan at the time so I had no idea who he was but I noticed that every guy at the wedding had cauliflower ears. 😯 I was focused on keeping all those scary dudes and their wives on the dance floor. He was an incredibly kind client, and now I’m a huge MMA follower.

I love DC. Loved that he was the smaller in stature of the heavy weights. Love that he was a two weight class champ. All that and he's still got his sense of humor and charm instead of being snobby. That's a complete man.

Jon Jones was my favorite fighter growing up so I used to despise DC for no reason other than he was Jon’s rival but over the years he’s become one of my favorite people in the sport.

This guy is just an amazing person. Legend and one of the best

DC is the perfect role model not only for MMA but in life. The things he has suffered, he could have easily went down the wrong path but he became a responsible man. Losing his child and still fighting on, persevering. I love his quote "Boys do what they want to do, Men do what they have to do".

I've been a fan of this man for a long time for good reason the world needs more role models for younger generations like him

I have great respect for DC cuz he's a true champion both inside and outside the Octagon....

How can you not respect and love this man. His all class. When the time comes for Dana to step down as UFC president, DC definitely gets my nomination.

Cormier seems like a good role model for children. He is not my favorite fighter in the ring but he seems like a good guy and role model for life in general.

I always had a soft spot for DC, but i properly respected him after another fighter showed a clip of DC in a hotel room after defending his belt. He was on his Ipad video chatting to the children in his gym during one of their classes. Such a great ambassador for MMA

Growing up I really liked Jon Jones but my dad really liked DC. Now that I'm an adult I can see why my dad appreciated DC more.
