Tyla basically released one song in South Africa in 2019 called " Getting late". That track was hot! And then she vanished and the next time us South Africans heard of her she was the " It girl" over in the states, all over the place and winning a Grammy! Most people here are suspicious about her overnight meteoric rise

What’s sad about Danileigh is that she had so much potential. Not many people can say they were discovered by and mentored by Prince. That’s a HUGE accomplishment. So to see her go out like this is disappointing. But, every choice she made was her own and you can’t have sympathy for her. I think she should just go back to being a choreographer/director and rebrand because her music career is done.

Labeling everyone as colorists except for the ones who really are colorist and disrespectful, and ignorant. She said something that wasn't perceived well and she acknowledged it, showed accountability, and humbled her bad choices. But unfortunately, that's not enough for some people. The same people who let others get away with doing worse things and behaving worse. People definitely pick and choose who they want to condemn and hold accountable and who they will be lenient towards and allow to do things that are also wrong. If you won't keep it fair and honest for everyone, hold everyone in the same regards, and call out everyone's behavior that is questionable or wrong then stop trying to call people out at all. It's counterproductive and one sided.

I agree with Sza, who is basically making the same statement as Beyonce with the Cowboy Carter album. The music industry is racist. They put black artists in a box, while white artists are allowed to flourish, explore genres, and receive a variety of accolades based on the music, not their race. It's not cool. Everyone should be calling them out for it. Also, I wasn't impressed with Normani's new single, but it might grow on me.
