That one man in the light blue shirt really pissed the Bull off. When he kept moving and moved over by the woman in blue. The Bull gave him a head jerk. They should of all stood completely still and quiet. I have never been to Africa but even I know that. I would of been as still as a statue, just awestruck by his majestic beauty. He would have taken my breath away so I probably would of looked dead to him. I would give anything to be able to see that gorgeous creature in person. I am a huge animal lover, but if I were there, I could go on home after that because to me nothing else would compare. 😁

Tip: His ears are flared out. This is NOT a good sign. This means he is in FEAR, potentially aggressive! He could have quite easily "up'd" his reaction + someone or multiple ppl could have been killed. Elephants, esp'ly African sub-species which are more aggressive, are NOT 2B toyed with.

@@debrahouston2884 Man has proven himself to be a threat to wildlife, man is renown for being untrustworthy, so it is intelligence that the elephant extends her ears (*not a bull) in the presence of a threat. Of course, she could have raised her response-level instantly, that's a given. That's *always a given. Of course, there's a potential for aggression, the people showed that by intruding into her territory, and she wanted them to back off or leave. But knowing her place in the Wild, and having confidence and exuding it, gives no necessity for fear, she wasn't fearful. People need to understand: elephants are not aggressive, they do *not *initiate trouble with man, they only stand their ground or defend themselves after man has intruded or threatened, which man's very presence conveys. Aggression necessarily includes initiation of threatening behavior, and that is always done by man. Elephants only respond, they don't initiate. Even when elephants eat from someone's crops or garden, invariably trampling it by consequence, they are not attacking or aggressing against man: that is man's emotional sense of it, but the elephants are *not attacking any man when they eat. Sure, it does damage to the garden or crops, for which man takes offense, but as an elephant sees it, eating crops does *not equate to being aggressive, because they are eating of Nature, they are engaged with Nature, not man. Elephants only respond. They may finish the battle, but they never start it. The problem is that man has little to no understanding of what he sees, and as a result, he does not exercise wisdom. Female elephants have a relatively wide sheath that covers the opening of the birth canal, that hangs down and protects it from mud, dirt and injury. That is what we see here. People that don't study elephants don't realize that is what it is. The gender markers of this elephant make her reality clear. At 03:18, she unfurls her trunk to say "Leave!" but the people don't listen. That is one of their "Go away!" gestures. No one "removed" her tusks, they broke off. If this had been a bull, the tusk that remains visible (her right one) would have been much thicker.

the entire time, it is ibvious that blue coat is a complete idiot. but i really made up my mind about that at 4 minutes. shortly after the bull bucks at them, she does move back a bit. but then at the 4 m mark, as the bull has gotten closer, she walks briskly over to the guy on the left. and the bull actually tracks her. unbelievable. she pretty much broke every "rule" in the book right there. Too close. Turned your back. Walked very fast directly in front of him... and on and on.

She was calm, and wanted the people to back off. There's a difference between intelligent understanding that humans are untrustworthy and that wisdom must be used around them, and fear. People, in their lacking understanding, equate wisdom with fear, but they are nothing alike. Wisdom can be used without fear, as we see in this elephant. The uploader was mistaken: this is a female elephant. Trying to push over trees wasn't enough hint for these tourists, but seeing that startled reaction should have clued them in. MAN!! I hope that they look back at their actions & realize that their idiocy could have gotten them killed; that the only reason they're still alive is because of blind luck! Cripes sake!

Also god forbid if they approach the cars or campsites of poachers hoping for a free snack.

The uploader was mistaken: this is a female elephant. Female elephants have a relatively wide sheath that covers the opening of the birth canal, that hangs down and protects it from mud, dirt and injury. That is what we see here. People that don't study elephants don't realize that is what it is. See her straight forehead that corners toward the top of her head? See her gently curved jawline? See her thinner, shallower chest (spine to sternum), her girth that increases at her abdomen? A bull's chest is much thicker, not shallow; a bull's tusks are significantly thicker too, and I don't think a bull would have been so tolerant in this scene. The gender markers of this elephant make her reality clear. It is not only bulls that secrete fluid from their temporal glands, females do too: this elephant is not in Musth. These people should not have been walking around: to be still is daring enough, but to be moving as they did, conveyed to her that they were unpredictable, and all animals know that humans are not trustworthy, which is why she told them to leave. At 03:18, she unfurls her trunk to say "Leave!" but the people don't listen. That is one of their "Go away!" gestures. No one "removed" her tusks, they broke off. If this had been a bull, the tusk that remains visible (her right one) would have been much thicker. African elephants' ears are usually in good shape. She does have a small hole in her left ear. It is usually the Asian elephants that suffer ear damage due to the abuse of those that force them to work.

NEVER DO THIS! The bull is picking up nuts. If people feed wild animals, then people will become targeted for food. If animals learn to get food from tourists, they stop foraging for their natural dietary fare and tourists become endangered when they don't offer food. You can call them stupid but fact is, we live on the same planet as they do. I thought they showed a lot of respect to the elephant and vice versa. My opinion is, The elephants should fear humans enough to stay away from us. That being said, it is our job to protect them from poachers.

I can't believe that the rangers allow the tourists to do this. Yes elephants see tourists on a daily basis and can be very tolerant but they remain huge animals and can kick you out in a matter of seconds. How irresponsible from these tourists to come that close.

The elephant talks by gesticulating with its trunk. The elephant is simply asking people if they have something to eat like peanuts. Note that the elephant is not grabbing something on the groud to put in its mouth. The elephant is gesticualting the question.

Those people were as stupid as dirt. Walking around and so much movement completely changed the mood of the elephant. Except for the woman, AT FIRST, she stood still. Like the person said below; and people wonder why tourists get killed. It should be MANDATORY for people going on safaris to watch a "what to do when" scenarios come up film BEFORE they go on safari. Even those going in by vehicle. Or, at least as many they could dart and catch to make them watch.....it's as though they don't even have a basic understanding of animal behavior. My dog is smarter than these people.

Exactly! They should have stayed perfectly still the whole time. What I would give to have that encounter on my trip, but I never would have moved around like that and at one point, you should put down the camera and enjoy the best experience of your life! There was obviously no guide here or if there was, he/she failed their job. I did have an ele sneak up behind me out of nowhere while I was squatting in the bush. I stood up and was 2 ft away from a bull passing through. I don't think I even breathed, I just froze. Saw the wiry hairs on his trunk. He eyed me for a minute but thankfully he was just headed to the water beyond the bush and I was lucky. If I'd moved around like these fools, no doubt I'd have startled him and would have been severely injured or dead.

If animals learn to get food from ppl they stop foraging for their natural dietary fare & ppl become endangered when they don't have enough or the right kind of snacks. Plus the animals can get really sick, 'Hey look he's eating the Doritos!' You know ppl would try giving them all kinds of stuff!

No issue with tourists. Issue is when human behaviour is utterly inconsiderate and disrespectful. Firstly respect the laws of the country you visit. Secondly respect the laws of the game parks and reserves you visit. Thirdly as a humans... respect the animals....give them their space. Should something happen...oh it becomes a tragedy and all media sensation is let loose. There were many lions and other animals put down...why? Because of humans. You say you love nature...really now ? Respect nature first !!!
