Amazing. Interesting contrast between the behavior of the male and female. I agree that's likely because of the car being closer than she wanted. I don't know elephant behavior, but wasn't the female flapping her ears as the car neared an indicator she wanted more distance, even before she vocalized?

She was probably spooked because of the sound of those lousy brakes!!! Come on!! You people are supposed to be elephant experts....ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? You should be putting some of that brain matter to work to at least TRY and understand how the elephants should react.....shameful, just shameful. She's a lot younger, and a female which should be telling you right away that the confounded brakes are going to freak her out....

Meh. These tours help pay for armed protection against poachers, conservation awareness, land mgmnt and even emergency vetting when humans have caused injury. The elephants know the road is shared... mostly it's ok Habitat loss is real. Compromises must occur... These are working out better than anyone expected, fwiw. Paz y luz.

The 'Human Shell' is really peculiar. We've never seen it eat, but it drinks about once each day. It can run for hours without tiring. However, it has trouble with rocky places and deep mud. I'll remember that because I don't trust it.

Even reptiles sneeze/and recognize . More babble: Canadian Geese - Limited (or stupid if you like)intelligence(neither mammal nor reptile; also sneeze!)Are aware of humor and running jokes(can you percep?) Bottom Line: You (sir?) do not have "the KEY"...You are not in a corner with "US". "WE" are LIFE. I may lie with vipers(not your friend!),sleep freely, roll over on top of them, and have Bipedal hominid accidents with them and be OK!(IS TRUE!) Soooo why didn’t the driver move off of the road so the beautiful elephant could continue on its way in peace? It would have been more awe inspiring had the driver moved out of their way and not almost hit one with the car and forced the poor elephant off the road. I truly enjoy watching encounters with all the wildlife as long they’re being observed from a respectful distance that doesn’t hinder their natural activity. But no, per usual humans with our sense of entitlement expect a giant elephant and a herd of elephants to move out of our way.
