Nice reaction, good timing to. Martha Reeves just got her star on the Hollywood walk of fame today. This song, was written by William Mickey Stevenson, Ivy Hunter and Marvin Gaye.

Motown was a priceless gift to our generation that captured our hopes for the future.

This song was a part of Sister Act. The nuns were trying to raise money for the school. The sisters rocked it.

This opera singer can rock and get down with Motown!

God bless my mom (RIP) who played all of these songs on the first random song player, 45 RPM turntable with a stack of records, as she did the housework. I listened to the Beatles, Martha and Vandellas, Beach Boys and all the rest which gave me a love for music until this day

Those boys were having fun.

I saw this OG girl group 3 times back in the early and middle sixties and onstage they were the most exciting and interesting of all of the girl groups I saw of that era. This includes The Ronettes, The Supremes, The Shirelles, The Marvelletes and many more. I remember them on the very old Mike Doubles Show that, when asked, stated that out of the group the largest dress size of them was a size 1. Those truly were completely different times indeed. "Heatwave" next please.

remade in 85 for Live Aid by David Bowie and Mick Jager

one of the greatest songs ever written. The theme is real-especially for the time and place-Motown-and an incredible vocal performance Martha who was doing secretary type duties at Motown (lotsa versions of this story). While many covered this song including Van Halen, The Kinks, Grateful Dead, Bowie/Jagger (my least favorite), MR&V version rocks the most and has the best vocals. Marvin gaye played drums on the song

So my favorite cover is Carpenters, 1968. Karen Carpenter (in white hot pants and knee-high boots) not only sings great (as an 18 year-old) but crushes a drum solo at the end.

In 1966 the mamas and the papas did a cover of this song. I didn’t know this group even sang it.

If you like travelling all over the map you should check out Chuck Berry and "Sweet Little Sixteen."

Check out Ready Steady Go from Britain with the Dusty Springfield hosts Motown and was crucial in getting black artists to Europe back in the 60s. Martha and Dusty were great friends and Dusty did covers of their songs brilliantly.

I told my friend Mark Burroughs about your crusade to have music labels disclose the use of any and all artificial/electronic enhancements to releases. He's quite pleased.

I wonder if you would be interested in two groups who covered this song. Late 60s it was the easy listening Carpenters, then in the early 80s by the rock band Van Halen. The former is a trio playing it on stage with the singer also playing drums. The latter has poor quality stage video out of synch. Van Halen made very few videos despite being hot during the prime MTV early years. Maybe just listen to audio only. Three great takes on the same song, and there are others who have covered this as well, everyone is going to have their favorite version.

Fyi this song was actually band in some places because of the civil rights movement they believed that I t cause riot's is some city's.

If you want to hear the music and singers without her input, you can always find this Martha and the Vandellas performance yourself on KZread. It is foolish to come to a reaction channel and be annoyed about how the person reacts in the moment.

For an opera singer this lady kicks ass! Because to be honest opera sucks!
