@@rhysjones1108 If they only want to fight eachother let them fight and sail off into the sunset for all I care. Doesn't have to hold up the division though. The UFC move the goalposts too much nowadays to accommodate for the needle rather than the sport. Same sh!t with Colby's title shot. But if the UFC are going to die on that hill, I would like to see Aspinall v Gane or the Aspinall v the winner of Almeida/Blaydes if the fight is later in the year (ideally Blaydes just to right the wrong from the injury) in Manchester. No chance I'm buying Jones v Stipe, hope the numbers tank.

I dont see the reasoning why Jones and Stipe "Deserve" to fight eachother ahead of Aspinall. Deserve is such a compicated word. Nobody deserves anything unless they earn it. How has a guy whos fought once at Heavyweight and another guy who lost his last fight years ago earned the right to be at the top of the pile? Meanwhile Aspinall is fighting anyone he can get his hands on at short notice and saving cards and he gets told to wait. Its absolutely stinks

With any luck the passage of time and the mounting fan pressure before April will make Dana strip Jon Jones. Maybe another injury complication or setback which makes his title sitting more controversial will tip the balance. The problem is we’ve only got less than 12 weeks. UFC300 is never getting announced beyond February.

I really want to find someone actually still interested in the Jones v Stipe fight. Even when the fight got cancelled I was infinitely more excited about the Tom v Pav fight. Now that we have to wait even longer for it it’s just going to feel more and more anticlimactic by the time the fight actually comes around. The UFC has always moved with the times better than any other sports organisation. But on this subject this is one of those rare times that I feel they’re going in the wrong direction.

Mark of a true Alpha. Much respect to Dana for this (and to Adam for putting it out there). Him and Nick have spoken about it so many times on the podcast but I’m glad he had the balls to bring it up in an interview environment.

I think Dana is star-struck on Stipe V Jones. In three years, neither of them will be considered the greatest heavyweight of all time.

Stipe is 1-1 against Francis and beat DC twice... I remember when Francis pulled out, JJ called stipe for title fight but they said gane deserves it.. JJ beats gane and calls out stipe, they say JJ ducked sergei by calling out stipe.. Tom beats sergei and now he's the real threat 😂 Why not alistair overeem? Didn't he beat Sergie too 😅

Am I the only one who would rather see Jon Jones fight Tom Aspinall rather than Stipe? 🤔 I honestly don't care about the Jones Stipe fight.

I don't know why Dana is stuck on this Jones Stipe fight. He keeps saying the fans want it but IMO the majority of fans that I talk to would much rather see Jones fight Aspinall. Honestly right now the fight to make with Jones out is Aspinall and Stipe. Once Aspinall sleeps 41 year old Stipe, then Jones has no where to go but through Aspinall. Stipe vs Jones makes about as much sense as Connor fighting for the welterweight title right now. Ask 100 fight fans who Jones should fight next and 99 of them will say Tom Aspinall. The one that said Stipe is Dana White🤣

This interviewer did an amazing job, absolute spot on with questions! I loved this interview.

Aspinal Vs Jones is the fight that has to happen next. Utterly ridiculous to put Miocic in that slot. What's the point of the interim title if the holder doesn't go up against the champ at the earliest opportunity.

Ok 8.25 minutes into the interview. Dana talks about British fighters past and present, which is in the UFC. He mentions Bisping , Mc Gregor, and the Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall. Nothing is mentioned about Leon Edwards who is a legit undisputed Welterweight Champion. Not interim but undisputed! Thats interesting.

Aspinall should definitely have a title shot next considering how he dominated Sergei. It's sad that we have to wait for Jones to fight some retired fighter who probably won't stand a chance due to being out for so long. It's ironic and funny how people (including Rogan) go on saying fighters who sit out for long periods usually perform badly (Rogan just said this when he talked to MPMD about Conor). Yet here we are with people thinking Miocic actually has a chance, which he does but not too much imo since he's been out for so long. At this point I just want the fight to be done and over with so both can retire and Aspinall can rightfully have that belt and the HW division isn't frozen and treated like trash like it has been for a long long time. I don't see how people can be excited about Jones vs Miocic since Stipe has been gone for so long. Blahh personally I would love to see Miocic win just so there's a huge upset and of course Dana would probably be shattered which is always nice to see (His face when Strickland won is priceless).
