The Detroit Lions Team is greater than the sum of their parts.

Yeah the Lions require character guys who love football, BUT they also value athleticism, playmaking ability, schematic fit, and college production…..especially with early picks. That seems obvious and logical, but to evaluate these prospects properly takes a lot of work and collaboration which is Brad Holmes’ hallmark. Man, is it ever great to have an outstanding GM running this team. Something that I, as a Lions fan since 1967, has never experienced before.

You guys are right on about what the team values in players. Like you said it’s working so please stick to the plan. Can’t wait to see the new additions!

No game is more complex than football. Eleven guys, each specialized, fighting 11 other guys and a rulebook that makes Congress look basic. Achieving unity of purpose is hard, and you need it from the top down. I think many owners and GMs really just want to play 3D fantasy football, but the LIons want guys who feel and react the exact same way in win/lose situations.

I am happy to see what I saw a couple years ago. Real players wanting to be Lions, mock drafts have not done one in 2024, several last season. In DC-Brad I trust. Could not begin to qualify their proven success. I just accept it. #OnePrideProud

The bigger surprise wasn't the players the Lions took last year, it was the positions they selected early. A lot of smart people said Brad doesn't take LBs early & don't draft RBs early.

Theyve interviewed Newton, Kool-aid, Vaki and Kneeland twice... I think you can probably bank those 4 guys are "campbell" guys given the evidence

They look at football IQ and attitude/character (like being a team player, being able to handle adversity/success) as a skill equally important as physical tools. Some teams prefer WR's that are better at contested balls, good hands or route running vs speed or height. It's their criteria. I don't see the problem people have with it.

Jackson Powers Johnson is a player with grit and has a nonstop attacking attitude .... another is Cooper Bebee, one of them will be a lion.

Also, the coaching they have brought in are good developmental leaders. Guys like Williams and Farley are known for building developmental guys up along with game plan coaching. I think Campbell and Homes are going for long-term sustained successes and I think this years draft, outside of the first pick, will be more along that developmental thinking rather than day one impact. Of course, they may identify a fourth round freak like ARSB :-)

Character gritty level cannot be picked by AI people are lazy they want 40 times RAS scores wich are valid tools but cohesive teams have a different make up

If; St. Brown holds out, trade him. Lions aren't over .500 by trade deadline, trade Goff. Simple.
