Damflask relays - traditional relay running on the roads, personal bests?

Спорт

Damflask relays, a traditional relay run, with a baton in hand around a reservoir on the outskirts of Sheffield. With teams battling it out over the 3.5 mile loop, whether it’s the 4 legs of a men’s team or the 3 legs of the women’s and vet 60 men’s teams. It’s always a fun evening of road running, with teams out in mass, supporting, spectating, cheering each other around the route and the banter is always flying.
This year wasn’t the usual ‘midge fest’ with them appearing around the reservoir, the skies opened and the heavy rain came. Thunder appeared, a few flashes in the sky and a rainbow over the reservoir, welcome to England and the Great British summer. Myself and Naomi fresh from the back of the Barnsley Boundary, our legs aching and not at all fresh. It would be a challenge to get them turning over, to see where we are at tonight. If they had recovered enough to do ourselves justice.
Take a watch to see how we got on this year at the damflask relays of 2024.

Getting out of car in that downpour is noteworthy in itself. Well done on the running too

Crazy weather! The decision to get out of the car must have been difficult. 🙂 Amazing how quickly you were able to recover and put in another sterling performance. Kudos to both of you. I hope your channel grows. The content is excellent. I initially came to your channel because of a shoe review but am now hooked on all your other content. Thanks. 👍

Seeing the still picture of Naomi running made me appreciate what a lovely economic and athletic running style she has. Would love to see more stills of you both. Well done on a nasty weather night as us in the south would have probably called it off lol!

Loved this race, took 30 seconds off last years time, Naomi going past me just at the top of the hill spurred me on a bit. I really liked the smiles on everyone's faces despite the rain and everyone cheering everyone else on.

Were you running near me? Penistone vest. You came past me coming down hill as Naomi overtook me then held me off at the end.

Another great report on one of the highlights in the local running calender - I can never remember it raining at the DF relays before either-!! but a few years back a longer course which finished at the far end of the lake was the first leg in the SYRL - absolutely bounced it down and slower runners were coming back in the dark -Fot those who have not run there - Low Bradfield is officially the midge biting capital of the known world- Sadly another one I dare not run after the arthritis flare up - but good news - hopefully I will racing again this weekend !! Thanks agsin 🎉

Enjoyed my return here this year. A great turnoit. Looking back at 2005 there were 24 men's teams and AC managed to get in the medal mix with 2nd place just behind Hallamshire. Hopefully you can again soon
