Hoping sequel, Dalton + Knox to beat more bad guys in other town, and leave town again. More hand-to-hand action scenes.

The problem is Hollywood has run out of original ideas. Script writers put out blockbusters , remake them, change the scenary, a few lines thinking they sell well in mainstream audiences to make tons of money. The problem lies on the product, remakes are usually worse than the original, hence audiences such as you reject them. I got this info from people who produce TV movies, series and motion pictures. There is a serious crisis in the movie industry, getting a fresh product into the open has become an uphill battle for movie writers, producers and directors

They're primitive and savage but every now and then they turn out a doctor who is cute who has a thing for bad boys. They're not as smart as folks in big cities but they have a special way of doing things.

This doesn't "bridge" anything. It's a mish mash of garbage fan service, bad CGI fight scenes, and absolutely horrendous dialogue. First off, the time difference doesn't work, it was already straining credulity that one man could completely dominate a small town in the 1980's, where we're just supposed to pretend the police force, FBI, district attorney, and a million other options aren't available, but are you really going to tell me that in 2024 a guy trying to acquire land for a corporate project is resorting to using hired thugs to harass the patrons of a bar instead of just using his legal team to get the place condemned? Or some other perfectly typical corporate tactic? Get the fuck out of here. What's sad is that Jake Gyllenhaal can actually do a dramatic fighter role well, we saw it in southpaw. But in this movie, he's too busy trying to be all smiley because of Swayze's characters original "be nice" mentality. He wildly vacillates from joking to serious and it comes off like he doesn't believe the movie is real either so he's just said "fuck it". What's even dumber is they crowbar original lines into this one and they make no sense. Case in point the "No one ever wins a fight" statement is fucking stupid BECAUSE HE'S A FORMER UFC FIGHTER. A professional fighter would easily acknowledge that there are winners and losers in a fight. The reason the line worked in the original is because Dalton was a bouncer, so even when he "won" a fight nothing changed. Gyllenhaal's Dalton has had ONE bar fight by the time that line is said which gives it zero impact. Don't even get me started on the Portuguese actress trying to fit into the original nurse role where it's clear she is NOT from the town (it's not her fault, she's just badly cast in this, her accent is way too think that she's hard to understand at all, let alone believe she's originally from the keys). And what the fuck is the random hostility against Dalton coming from exactly? He drove the guys he beat up at the bar to the hospital? How is he the asshole exactly? And while it's funny meme material to joke that they just let Connor McGregor walk around on set and just filmed whatever he did cause he's not an actor but just insane is fun, but it doesn't save the movie.

This movie shouldn't have been titled "Roadhouse". It's not Roadhouse, something else. It should've been called "Conch" or "The Keys". I see what they did and it was to fan the flames of controversy to create hype. It's marketing.

McGregor was a parody of himself walking around like he had a permanent buttplug up his arse and smiling like he loved it. I had such high hopes. Thank god Swazye didn't have to sit through this utter shit.
