    It's almost strange to call him "Larry". I think most people just think of him as JR Ewing. The greatest character in the history of television, and there's no close second.

    I once saw a reel of each cast member firing the pistol, including Hagman, with a ‘ what the heck’ expression, after. That maybe been a dramatic role, but, he still had exquisite comedic timing!

    When this episode aired, I was all of in the 2nd grade. The next day (or shortly thereafter), a classmate told me that *I* had shot J.R. - because I have a very similar name to the character who did (and maybe he got our names confused a little). Ha! Cool '80s memory.

    Though she may not have been the worst sister on the show. Katherine tried to steal Bobby from Pam and tried to frame Cliff for shooting Bobby. Clayton’s sister Jessica tried to kill him. She also killed his first wife.

    You know something. Never thought if it that way. I was 7 and not really into it although my parents watched it just like the whole country did. The shows back in the 80's were better. Now things are rediculous. To this day my mom doesn't remember.

    People stayed home and watched "Dallas" instead because they knew Reagan was lock to win the election; although, they didn't want either him or Carter as President. Also, cable was in its infancy trying to find itself and there were 3 networks at the time (ABC, NBC, and CBS). Dallas was on CBS and the other two didn't have anything good on at that time.

    As a teenager I remember watching this show just to see Mary Crosby as Kristin. She was one HOT looking fox! I wish she had stayed on a while as a character. She would have made a great antagonist for JR!

    you can tell a difference when the scene changes after she gets out of the taxi and when she walks on to the patio. The patio scene was on the sound stage.

    One problem... In the actual episode when Sue Ellen went over to Kristen’s apartment, she never put down the gun. She held the gun and the drink at the same time and then left. Check it out.

    Interesting that when the taxi pulled up into the driveway with Sue Ellen she was on location at the real Southfork, but the rest of the scene was shot on the soundstage.

    Mary Crosby was hot damn sexy, not to mention the equal of JR in nastiness. Too bad her character didn't continue on the show. Is there truth to the rumor that she wanted more money and a bigger role in the series? And that's why the producers had her written out? It's a shame because she could have become one of the big "hits" of the show. Especially as a nemesis for JR.

    Kristin was a very resentful young lady who hated the fact that Sue Ellen had this "Glamorous Life" and she didn't. She overstayed her Welcome at Southfork, and Framed her own Sister. She eventually got hers in The Long Run. Poor Christopher, his Bio Mother and Adoptive Mother are both Gone.

    Irl Larry Hagman and Mary Crosby (Bing's Granddaughter) were good friends he argued to keep her apart of the series to exec producer Leonard Katzman,but to no avail as she didn't have a contract with CBS after the 1980 season,so it was deemed by the shows writers to have it be kristen the one who shot J.R. as she was deemed the most expendable.

    I'm surprised that Sue Ellen was allowed on The Grounds considering the circumstances. I had to laugh when I heard the Horses in the background. I reminded me of how Ralph Di Bricissart found out how Mary Carson left him her Fifteen Million Dollar Fortune that enabled him to climb into the higher levels of The Church. The Horses were howling in The background as if they understood what happened.

    My name is Kristin, and this show was where my Mother told me she heard that name from, loved it, and gave it to me as my name at birth. My Father's name is Jeffery Rucker. His initials being "J.R.".... ... "Kristin shot J.R." ... !!! If you knew my Parents, you'd know this falls perfectly in line with the dysfunction they both live(d) by! ... This scene is hilarious though, looking back. Lmao!
