Season 13, the first version with different trebles / violins, I think they swapped 1st and 2nd trebles and made the 2nd ones more loud. But it is a great material for writing this theme down in musical notation.

Not really, it's actually the same for the entiere season, but it's supposed to be in Stereo, the violins are suppodes to be more prominent at the left channel and the other version is actually the right channel. If you mix those two together, one at the left, the other at the right, then you have the stereo theme as it was supposed to sound the entire season, they just messed things up. ;)
@MartGC Жыл бұрын
The first 2 versions shown here are actually the same. The theme was recorded in Stereo for the first time this season, but somehow the networks were distributed with some episodes featuring only the left channel (violines in the foreground) and others only with the right channel (violins in the background). If you mix those versions one to the left and one to the right channel, then you have the stereo version how it was supposed to sound for the entire season, if they had done it right.

The final two seasons of the entire "Dallas" series, removed the moving pictures and 3-way split screen in the title sequence from Seasons 13 and 14 as it went to single screen elements. The moving pictures and 3-way split screen were restored and returned in "Dallas Reunion: The Return to Southfork" on November 7, 2004 from a CBS Special Presentation. Rights to "Dallas" now belong to Warner Bros. Television.

There's something oddly satisfying at seeing Larry Hagman having producer credit in these last two seasons.
@bfsgman

Larry admitted that title was just an excuse for him to make more money. He never actually had any added responsibilities. The show also went down in quality immensely once he got that title. In my opinion, it was one of many signs that they weren't taking the show seriously any more. Larry was almost fired in the early years of the show for wanting more money, and by the end of the show he was given a meaningless producer credit solely as an excuse to pay him more. He may have been the show's main draw, but the material they were churning out towards the end was absolute crap. None of them deserved to be making obscene amounts of money at that point.

If one could ever accuse a television series opening of jumping the shark, it has got to be Dallas Season 13 The strings, the loss of the iconic panning split screen in place of the snare timed actor shots, and the removal of the equally iconic three screen split for the actors was so devastating to the brand. I get wanting to move on with the times (into the 90s by then) but it's a all a step back.
