In 70s music that was the production, often the instrumental was louder than the vocals. So it's what makes the song authentic to the time period.

It kinda makes sense that the backing music is louder on this song bc it feels like Billy is screaming to be heard and given another chance I think it kind of fits the vibes and the underlying meaning of the song

I agree, out of all the songs in the album this is the one that probably sounds the most authentic and historically accurate. A very experimental sound, kinda sounds like it could fit into the Beatles' Revolver.

I think this is my favourite.

This is definitely my favorite song on the Album.

Both are excellent singers and the Amazon series was great. Riley Keough should be a recording artist. Riley truly possesses her grandfather's & mother's vocal talent. Daisy's character was loosely based on Stevie Nicks. That is evident in the costumes. The book was on the NY Best Sellers list for quite a while. Based in the late 70's to early 80's. Worth a watch and read.

Production back in the day wasn't the best most of the times. What immediately comes to mind is Pink Floyd's debut, like often you can't hear what Syd Barrett sings at all.

She’s great. He can’t carry a song. Ditch him. Much better band.
