The fan cam version of Daididau from New York is one of the most moving and emotional performances you will ever see. It is the first time to have a large solo concert in America where he was able to sing this song, something he said was a dream come true. The audience did its best to sing the song with him and he was so emotional, so happy and you could tell it was a moment of absolute pride and joy for him. I was in tears and so so proud of him.

    Moreover, Zuleikha (Daididau) fighted for releasing Magzhan when he was first time in a prison. She went to Moscow to meet Russian colleagues- writers and they helped to release him, but later after six month he was arrested again and executed in 1938. All those years she hid and saved all his manuscripts and it was published only in 80s...

    I'm here very late, but something that always strikes me when I hear Dimash perform this song is that glorious silence right before the a cappella section, when everyone is waiting breathlessly for the next phrase. It strikes me that silences can be just as much a part of beautiful music as the audible singing. If music tells a story and evokes emotions, that loaded silence while we wait is a stunning part of this performance. And in an aside, I'm always impressed by the audience at that moment. Dimash keeps the mike up which indicates that he isn't finished singing, and the audience catches the clue and waits. I imagine it is a cultural thing and a reflection of a different setting, but I'm not sure an American concert audience who was unfamiliar with the song, would hold that silence without breaking into cheers and applause.

  • @Treefellow1

    @Treefellow1

    Incredible moment is that silence, you see how much artistry and presence Dimash has to make his audience wait with bated breath.. And it's followed by the most incredibly gentle and emotional passage, breathtaking and tear-inducing!

  • @julieh.700

    @julieh.700

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes I agree! You know silence is something Dimash uses a lot for effect. Funny how it is missed by almost everyone. I think we often negate it as it's the absence of sound and so we don't consider it important to the song. But the silence creates a huge contrast. Dimash uses this extreme contrast to really accentuate emotion but also to make high notes more shocking. He's a master and he knows what he's doing. First time I noticed it was watching the end part of the Dimash's singer performance of "All by Myself". In that piece the orchestra reaches a point where it sounds like thunder echoing into the distance and then followed by a noticeable silence. That silence makes us all lean in and listen carefully, holding our breath. Then Dimash comes in with his a cappella section and we are captivated. It's genius!

    Gloria Wu stopped posting videos well over a year ago. The instrumentalists with him are his University classmates, he had outfits made for them and flew them to China to appear with him for the performance of this important song. Dimash desperately wanted to show his countries music, his culture to the audience here in China, and the silence, you could hear a pin drop. He had the audience in the palm of his hand. Gloria adds things and often alters the sound to get past copyright so its not exactly as the TV show but its still good 💙💙💙💙💙🇰🇿🇰🇿🇰🇿🇰🇿🇰🇿

    That 8-second pause at 10:09 is a spectacular twist. Dimash leads us -- in his hands -- down this tear-filled path and then, here, drops away and leaves us, and continues alone, his heart broken and inconsolable. "To whom shall I divulge my sorrow?" doubled. tripled? Dimash is a master of using silence and in this performance, he rises to perfection.

    Hi there and hello, Dear Elizabeth! Sadly, I cannot join you for the premiere - 😭 - but I'm very much looking forward to watching it later on this (UK) evening - 🤗🤗 - yay! It's embarrassing to admit, but before I stumbled across Dimash last year, I was barely aware that Kazakhstan was even a country - and certainly couldn't have pointed to it on a map!😳 But thanks to our gorgeous Kazakh prince, not only was I introduced to his country's language, history and culture, I was inspired to traverse a whole new world of music... The truth of it is, that I'd happily spent 99.99% of the previous four decades listening to English-language-only songs, from UK/US mainstream bands, and saw no reason for that to change - until Dimash came along, and showed me just what I'd been missing! But it was this contemporary twist given to «Daididau», that really piqued my interest... I said to myself, whoa there, hang on there a second - wasn't traditional/folk music supposed to be boring and irrelevant, something played at pretentious "flower power" retreats, that should have long been consigned to the history books before now?! So with my blinkers finally off, I began to musically travel the (virtual) globe - and to cut a very long story short? Well, it's now the songs sung in English that are the rarity on my playlists! All thanks to the wonder known as Dimash Kudaibergen, to whom I will be forever grateful - as if there were any more reasons needed, to stay an avid Dear for life! ❤❤LOVE YOU, DIMASH!!❤❤

    Hi Elizabeth, Thank You for another Outstanding Reaction & Analysis! It was really Beautiful to see Dimash sharing the Love of his country and people through this Soulful Performance! I also Loved his ability to play the Dombra which was simply Amazing and I Loved the lyrics inspired by the poem written by Magzhan Zhumabayev (his back story was also Sad and it reminded me of my Grandparents and Parents who were interned at the Internment Camps in Poston, AZ during WWII). It is Truly Inspirational to see Dimash as a role model for the younger generation of Kazakhstan and to the rest of the World!!! Thank You, Elizabeth!!!! :-)

    It's a beautiful love song, but I imagine also because of its source, it could also be a very revolutionary statement against an oppressive regime that wrongly imprisoned so many and destroyed their lives.I'm sure it was a song that wasn't well received by the powers that imprisoned the writer. I wonder if that has anything to do with why Dimash loves it so much. He is very proud and in love with his culture, and I'm sure that he feels the pain of the past oppressions very much.

    I highly, highly recommend you watch/react to the 2017 BASTAU concert version of this. You will more than tear up at the end. By far one of my favorite of all his performances and gets me every time. The Aida intro where he’s playing the Dobra (sp?) is awesome as well.

    Lo seguimos desde 2017 que participó en el concurso en China. Fue el competidor más joven, 22 años y el primer extranjero. Lo adoptaron como su " hermanito ". No sé si sepas que canta en 9 idiomas! Su participación la 3er semana cantó en chino, no lo sabía todavía hablarlo bien, mucho menos cantarlo y lo hizo impresionante.!
