CZ 75 Compact Pistol Comparison! CZ75, CZ 75 PCR, CZ P01. Similarities & Differences.
Ғылым және технология
Today we're looking at the similarities and differences between the CZ 75 Compact, the CZ 75 PCR, and the CZ P01 pistols in 9mm. They're all somewhat similar, but have some important differences to consider when you are contemplating a purchase. We look at grips, sights, trigger action, safety, magazines, and all the other aspects that might matter when picking out the CZ 75 that works best for you. All firearms in this video were secured and verified unloaded before filming started, so we do not re-verify them while filming, but you should always verify that all firearms are unloaded before handling!

I tried all three. I prefer the 75 Compact. Because it has the steel frame, it feels a bit more solid and shoots flatter for me. Recoil is very muted because of the metal frame. I also like the stock sights on the 75 Compact and also the availability of different sights which are more available than the PCR. All are great guns and you can't go wrong with any of them. They are all a pleasure to shoot and are VERY accurate.

I bought a jericho 941fs so that I could have a 'cz' with the full length dust rail like the P01, but in a steel frame like the standard compact has. I now also own a P01 omega as it has everything I like about the jericho but can has many more aftermarket parts to support it.

The best one is the steel-frame, non-Omega P01. A little unicorn.
I purchased a CZ 75 D Copact PCR. Love this pistol. Feels good in my hand. Love shooting it. Like that it has a 15 round magazine
Any CZ 75 compatible sights will fit on the PCR, P-01 and 75 B Compact, the only reason why some Mfr's claim that their sights are not for the PCR, is because the shallow flat on the slide, in front of the sight will be exposed. No big deal and I think it actually looks cool.
Wanted to say thank you for the video. Ive been looking for a 9mm for a while that checks off: -Compact -Metal Frame -Hammer Fired -Double AND Single action -Integrated Rail And the big one: IS readily available in California. All for a sub $1000 tag. Looks like the winner is going to be the CZ PO1
Very informative and helpful comparison....exactly what I needed. Thank you.
I chose the PCR and love it. I put LOK grips on mine. I also have the full size CZ75 SP01 Tactical with night sights. Both great shooters and very reliable. I have run 1,000 rounds through each gun without a failure of any kind.

@@ranger17810 year life on night sites from what I’ve read.
The first pistol of what I call my "modern era" was a CZ P10F. Over the last few years, I've added the -S and -C variants of the P10 to the safe. My EDC was the P10C for a while, until I figured out that I might be happier with the DA/SA trigger system. I bought a P07, in part because my spare magazines for my P10C fit it (and I could use the P10F magazine as a spare), and I like it quite well. Found a good buy on a P09, so have a great open-carry option. But I keep looking at the 75 variants with interest. It has come down to the P01 vs the PCR vs the P01 Omega for me. Being accustomed to the Omega trigger and decocker already (P07 and P09 both have Omega triggers), I'm leaning toward the latter, but the final decision will be about how the controls feel in my hands.
Thanks for this, I am in the hunt for a home defense 9mm and I saw the CZ75 at a shop over the weekend and I thought it felt very good in the hands and very solid. I really want to see the CZ75 Compact and make a call between the 2. Thinking the compact may be the way to go. I used an M9 Beretta in the Army in the mid 80's and really liked it. The Beretta 92FS Compact is not available in California so I may want to try out the CZ75 Compact, looks real nice
I have the full size CZ75B & the CZ 75D Compact PCR, both are excellent shooters that feel great in your hand. For the PCR I bought Dawson Precision Tritium Night Sights from Cajon Gunworks, if you do the same you won't be disappointed.
Recently, I found out how opinionated some people are about decocking hammer-fired semi auto pistols . If you decock Without a decocking lever, don't tell anybody

Where did you buy from? Hard to find
Far as the full size mags in the compacts, keep in mind that if you slam it home you can damage the ejector pin. Some risk to consider there

This is making my newgunitis flare up; I have a Pre-B CZ75, and it needs a companion. As you point out, the feel of a CZ75 is simply exquisite.
Very good comparison. But there is no need to manually lower the hammer; just decock.

CZ compact shown first example does not have a decock position. The one shown has a safety like the M1911. Give away is the little red dot. Lever up safe, lever down red your dead. Safety lever up lock keeps the weapon from firing.
Always liked those CZ’s! 😉
Thank you! Very helpful!
Excellent review. I recently purchased the CZ 75 D PCR and just took it to the range today for the first time. 150 rounds down range without a hiccup. This is my first CZ although I’ve been eyeing them a long time now. I love the size and ergonomics, it’s also very high quality and I like hammer fired pistols. Most of the ones I own are Sigs but I’m thinking I’ll switch out my M11a1/P229 for this one after a while. Interestingly, I don’t shoot the CZ as well as I expected but well within respectable range. I’m thinking I’ll get better with practice. Anyway your review was very helpful and straightforward. Thanks 🙏

I like the decocker, for sure. I'm working up to buying a 75 variant, and the PCR is on the very short list. Since I already have a P07 and a P09, I see some value in the P01 Omega (same trigger and decocker). Your thoughts?

Can you suggest a quality holster for cz75d compact?.
Great Video!!! Very informative!! So you actually convinced me… I’m gonna go with a P0-1 for sure!!
I just put my thumb between my hammer and firing pin and drop it down to halfcocked and carry it like that. I also have 32 round mags for mine but they aren’t 100% reliable stick with the 15-10s for self defense.
Thank you very much for this.

I picked up sights for the PCR at Cajun. Sights are now 6 clock hold which I am good fine with. I have the night sights and brought it to my range gunsmith. They were able to change the front but I had to go to Amazon and get a sight press and the frame rolls a little bit but I got it done and it is a great pistol.

Excellent video
I can't weigh in between these pistols. But Ive had a 75 compact decocker for just about ten years now. I have or have shot 1911s, M&Ps, 92s, Sigs, Rhinos, Glocks, not all but quite a few. At 6'9, my hands are bigger than most and my absolute favorite to shoot is my 75 compact. Hands down. Not a question. Obv I like 1911 triggers the best, but overall comfort, angle, grip, recoil, I'll take my baby CZ any day. Carry it? Maybe not. Its heft is its biggest selling point. That said, I picked up a Shadow 2 SA about a month ago but havent had a chance to get out and drive it yet.
Excellent comparison I really needed to know that information I like the P01 look the best but it’s only de Cocker and I really want a safety so I can modify it a single action only
CZ in my opinion is synonymous with quality … I’ve asked Santa Clause for a CZ TS orange … We’ll see how that pans out .. 🤞
Can you put a light or a red dot on the compact?
I love them CZ's!
I chose all three,plus a P07 😁
Fits like a glove. 😊
Thx. Don’t have one yet.
I have a Compact L from the CZ Custom shop in Arizona that it better IMO than any of the ones shown.
i have all 3 of them and want to add couple thing to what you explain already which is on PCR and P01 they have extended magazine release and hole in the gripe for install the lace because of military and police use compared to CZ 75 which don't have them and they have rubbery gripe but on CZ 75 is hard plastic gripe and also PCR trigger is more like hook compared to other two.
Q) Can I convert the CZ p01 9mm to 40 cal?
Why not start your procedures on the P 01 from a cocked and locked status, giving you a single action for a first and follow up shots. My experience is mostly 1911 and Browning Hi Power. Always carried cocked and locked. With training and experienced no issues in my view.
@badfinger4621

Because the standard P-01 he has here does not or can not have a safety on it. It has a decocker that can't be changed. A P-01 Omega can have either a decocker or a safety.
Are those on loan?? I’m impressed with your willpower as they still have the stickers on them.
So for a self defense carry you want a decocker? That’s what I got from this video…makes sense. I initially was going to go with the PCR but heard it had more recoil…and that the regular compact was better because it has two options when using it whereas the PCR just has one option no? If the decocker is best for carry and self defense, what good is the compact? Al three look amazing. I just cannot decide which two to get. The 75 B and its compact or the 75 B and the PCR. These will be my first firearms and hope to have these pistols for life. One to carry one larger for home…
I have the Canik (Tristar) C-100 Turkish clone of the CZ 75 Compact. I absolutely love it, and could not afford an actual CZ. My question is this: Does the CZ 75 compact (without the decocker) have a half cock position also? and does the safety work in all 3 hammer positions? Mine does, and it is important to me. My hands are somewhat small, with a short trigger finger compared to others, and a double stack Double action auto loader always gives me a problem reaching the trigger in DA mode. I can reach it, but not for a good first shot (the most important shot obviously) I carry it on half cock, which I can reach correctly for a good trigger pull. And i prefer a manual safety. I carried 1911 for many years.

@nathanlambshead4778

@@luisperna6308 That's what I thought. I wonder why not? That's why I love this Canik clone. My safety engages in all three hammer positions. Not that big a deal if your hands are big enough to carry in double action efficiently, but I need to start at half cock to get a decent first shot. And I am a manual safety, 1911 kind of guy for decades.

@@nathanlambshead4778 Palmetto State Armory sell them for $549, got mine for $553 including tax and a 5% discount, they send it in decocker lever but swapping to safety lever is easy, you can find some videos in youtube for that, I’ve heard that CZ stop making P01 Omega, so if you want and find one I suggest don’t think twice.

CZ 75 series full size mags work in 75 series compacts but compact 75 mags do not work in full size 75 series pistols.
Steel sharpens steel fire melts plastic and if you throw it it doesn't hurt steel sharpens steel and when you throw it it hurts 🤕
FYI- you cannot use the same magazine for the 9 mm and the 40 caliber round.! if you put 9 mm in a 40 caliber magazine they are not gonna lineup properly in the feed ramp and are going to end up jamming on an attempt to load them while firing the handgun. Yes, they may initially hand loading them but when you fire the handgun, they’re going to get bottlenecked up in the magazine or in the slide chamber area..-make sure you know what you’re talking about before you give advice on loading different bullets into the wrong caliber magazine.!!

I own 2 of them. CZ is a gun you'll pay $800 for and then spend more money fixing it. Do not buy this gun if you're buying only one gun for self defense. They have slide issues, magazing sticking issues and feed issues. Just wanted to get some truth out there.
