I've got one. Probably the most accurate rifle I have out to 300yrds or so, the set trigger is freaking awesome. Probably my favorite rifle!!!

That...is one target rich environment. Greatly admire your resolve in not burning up that barrel.

Totally agree. I have 2. The varmint and the American. It's like cheating out to about 250. Absolutely love that gun a nd cheap to load for. I bought a bunch of those zombie max bullets for cheap. They shoot great!

Love my 527 17 Hornet, particularly the push-to-set hair trigger. Haven't tried anything other than the 20 gr VMax yet. Longest shot to date on a sod poodle is 356 yds.

Hey Cavedweller, always enjoyed your videos. Wanted to pass this on. I replaced the trigger on my CZ 527 with a Timney 550 trigger. Its not shown on their website, but ask them and its works perfect. Its a whole new gun now. I got tired of the single set non-sense. Sad they stopped making the CZ in this caliber.

The 17 Hornet seems like a really interesting caliber 😀

Is there anything more fun than a dog day afternoon? I think not. It is one of several things that I lament over moving from the Midwest down to Hill-country in Texas and that is that prairie dogging is scarce down here. Sure we have plenty of Javelina and night vision fun but it ain't the same. Looks like you were fighting a bit of mirage but getting them, just the same....

Cz 527 in 17 hornet is the dream rig, so hard to find however down here in oz. The American model is preferred but either non existent or they want a fortune for them!

I picked up a 17h cz527 varmint from AW Grassi earlier in the year - only seen one other come up for sale on usedguns and it sold the same day!

Love my CZ 527 in 6.5 Grendel (I believe they discontinued it). Mounted it in a Bell & Carlson stock with glass bedding and it is sub MOA to 350 yards.

You're mostly at fault for me having to have one of these. I love mine. Cheap to shoot, no recoil, little to no report.

One surpasses the 527. And still available . The Model 1771 Anschutz . Even more accurate and Olympic grade trigger. Just call Anschutz in Alabama and order one.

Got my threaded running a sparrow can on it I got lucky enough to buy 1000 25 grain hollow points Loaded them up with lil gun and man that rifle shoots The only problem for me is the safety is backwards!

I love this rifle, only problem is, one is rarely available in Canada. I have a Tikka 223 and am looking for a 527 LUX in the same caliber.

I have one and almost sold it before they were discontinued but friend kept telling me not to. Really glad I didn’t I can always use it for the action

Loving the 17 Hornet videos, just picked up a cz 527 varmint in 17H and interested to know what height mounts you’re using, they look like Warne mounts. Scopes has a 50mm objective and thinking a set of Warne highs may suit so the bolt has more clearance from the scope. Appreciate your thoughts Many thanks

I think these are medium Warne rings. I have about 3/16" clearance above the barrel with a 44 MM scope.

That little bitty bullet can get it and it sounds quiet... how much more velocity are you getting over something like a 17 super mag??

The 20gr. are around 3600fps. The 25gr. drops to 3200 or so.

Not factory, my gunsmiths work.

Pretty sure you can get the 25 gr hp in the Dogtown line by midway.

I bought two 223’s. A 17 Remington and a 204 Ruger. I was going to buy a 17 Hornet Varmint and a 22 Hornet American. Then they disappeared from the market. I called CZ. They said they are out there. They lied to me. The discontinued them. They are getting crazy money for them on gunbroker. Apparently they are having issues with new 600. I hope they bring back the 527 Varmint.
