Thanks for another great shoot. Your 17 Hornet videos inspired me to get a CZ 527 Varmint in 17 Hornet last year. Loading 15.5 grain lead free Hornady pills with 12.4 grains of CFE BLK, nearly the same load you mentioned you use in a video. Using it on ground squirrels here. Love that little rifle and love your videos. Someday I hope to get to ND or Wyoming for some prairie dogs.

Try the Timney 550 trigger in your 527, it works. Ask the company directly. It makes your CZ even better.

Timney's trigger for the CZ 550 is a direct replacement for the CZ 527 set trigger. Its even better. Call Timney, not sure why the 527 is not listed. Somebody passed this info to me, so I like to share. Its really the finishing touch to this super accurate rifle.

What are your thoughts on the .17 wsm I wish we had that rimfire back in early eighties anyway I have .17 hornet in ruger model 77 good shooter just have to patch it alot

Had the 77 in 17 & 22 Hornet. Had to clean both every 20-25 rounds. Parted with both of them.

I saw a Canadian take out a coyote at about 320 yards

If you had to pick one cartridge to start varmint shooting with. What would it be and why?

And when I graduate to centerfire, as much as I hate to say it, it would be the .223 Rem. As low priced as any thing on the market & readily available.

I've had excellent luck running the CZ. 6-8 years back, had both 17 & 22 Hornets in the Ruger 77. Excessive headspace, about 3 reloads & case separation here we are. I tossed hundreds of cases out that had the ring where they were soon to come apart. So, your question depends on your rifle.
