Cutting WAVES? Check this on Your Sawmill!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video I'm going to show you how to check drive belt tension if your bandsaw sawmill starts to cut wavy boards.
The first thing to check if cutting wavy boards on your sawmill is your blade! But the SECOND thing should always be drive belt tension.
Cutting wavy boards on a band sawmill usually happens because of a loose drivebelt causing a drop in torque to the sawmill band. Tightening up the drive belt solves this issue most of the time!

Yes Sir. There can be a number of factors creating them wavy cuts. I try and do a complete once over on my mill every 50 hours. So far it’s paid off. The chance to teach a young man how a mill operates to give him a little knowledge of it. Good job

Hey Erik, thanks for the tips. I noticed the laser beam on your sawmill. Did that come with the mill or is it an after-market product? My squirrely logs are convincing me to buy one, but I wonder if the after-markets are intense enough to see the line clearly.

You bet! and yes that is an aftermarket laser by Apinex. It works pretty well except in direct sunlight and while I believe it's a useful mod I still need to adjust it a little more LOL but haven't managed to get back to doing so. Here is the video I did installing it: kzread.info/dash/bejne/kYOd0aSGqaXbmJc.html

Oooo you're sneaky. This is recycled from the last video. I'll bet you learned that in the Marines. It's great to be teaching a young person how to do something; especially when the WANT to learn. Good (recycled) video.
