I love the coral piece you have! I would love to have a slice of it polished and made into a pendent. The one on the left that came out more round is just amazing! Now I am going to be on the lookout to see if I can find any of it online because there is no chance of finding anything like that where I live sadly. Nothing but cornfields forever in the part of Indiana I am in. 😭

3:44 was a very beautiful specimen. 2:15 was very cool too. So much hidden beauty and complexity in the minerals that make up the ground we tread everyday . Endless variety to discover.

If you want to cut the not-so-great-looking petrified wood into chunks and polish it, you can sell it for a small (small) fortune online as people in the new age community and other traditions buy it for grounding, protection, and other metaphysical uses. Prettier pieces sell for more though, but they don't need to be very big, just a small chunk to carry in one's pocket.

Can i ask what saw you use to cut open the rocks? Do you have any recommendations for beginners?

Curious? What brand/size of wet saw do u use? I don't think I've seen a video with u cutting rocks? You just show the rocks already cut. Thanks 😎

What do you do with all the rocks you cut? Do you tumble them or grind and polish the flat cut side?

Right now I just hold on to them, but the plan is to polish them and make things out of them

I think if you want to go the extra drive, I think the Hauser geode beds would be a great place for you to go. I've been around 5 times now and if you know what you are doing, you could come home with a hefty, high-quality load. The whole area around there is very beautiful as well.

Hauser geode beds sounds familiar... I believe those were in southern california? Just looked it up, yep that would be quite a drive for me. Probably won't get around to visiting them for quite some time, but thanks for the tip!

Here are the GPS coordinates of where we parked: 39.931638, -111.530741 Just walk up the hill, they are everywhere near the top. Keep in mind, this is State Trust land so you need to get a permit from the state to collect here. You can easily find that information online at trustlands.utah.gov/.
