Custom Motorcycle One Off Fiberglass Parts, Episode 1

As with many others I am a hobbyist custom motorcycle builder. Sharing tips and tricks you help you build your Project!
This is only an introduction video showing 3 basic processes I use to achieve a one off pattern (Mould) to produce a fiberglass part from.
Later episodes will include the processes of laminating the part with fiberglass materials, to beginning shape to final prep for paint work. This is all being done on my latest project of a 1985 Yamaha FJ1100.... Enjoy!

    I'm making a custom fender for my Harley and have watched hours of fiberglass videos. That being said, this is the most practical/informative one I've seen yet. Thank you!

    @@iccustomsusa8048 question man, do you really need to use a gas tank sealer?. I am from a country where por15 isn’t available. Was wondering if the resin could withstand or resist petrol for a very long time.

    @@erickneilnoveros6525 there are 2 functions for a tank sealer in this instance. It is not only for petrol/ethanol resistance it also is to cover any potentially exposed fiberglass fibers at the surface you can’t see with your eye. Those exposed fibers act as wick’s and slowly transmit fuel throughout the fibers within the tanks structure to open edges. Ruining any paint work. You could use many other tank sealer brands available. I have used por 15 and epoxy sealer

    @@iccustomsusa8048would a Kawasaki H2 style set of fairings for a Ninja 400 be something you could do?

    @@chrisdrummond380 a single fairing set mold would be far to costly To produce, you are better off doing the one off custom parts using foam or clay

    @@iccustomsusa8048 interesting that you say that. I just finished watching another video where the foam was used to create a tail fairing. It was fairly straight to the point, somewhat tedious, but doable. Thanks regardless, awesome channel!
