Current State of Demand Planning (02/04/21)

Description: This session will cover the objectives of demand forecasting and demand planning in business and their current practices by mainstream practitioners. It will touch on various strategic, tactical and operational processes and how demand planning connects them all. The effects of demand sensing, demand shaping and collaboration on demand plans are also explored.
Speaker: Stefan de Kok is a thought leader in the supply chain planning and forecasting domain with over 20 years’ experience. He has performed many roles, ranging from technical and functional consulting, product design, product management, and development at multiple supply chain software companies, as well as serving as a hands-on as planner and forecaster, across many industries. In the process Stefan realized that problems with dramatic impact on accuracy, efficiency and stability, which he witnessed everywhere, were due to critical flawed assumptions. He dedicates himself to lifting supply chain to a higher level, through outside-the-box innovation backed by rigorous science. He is a regular speaker, consultant, educator, blogger, and is writing his first book, “An introduction to Probabilistic Planning and Forecasting”.
