Dr. Sinha will describe the Amazon outbound supply chain with respect to the order fulfillment process. Optimizing this supply chain is a complex problem, because of multiple objectives interact each other in terms of cost, serviceability, and performance. The agenda for this webinar is to highlight the multiple objectives, decision making under such uncertain environment, forecasting and risk hedging. He will share his views on examining the decision space, available information and effect of decision changes to achieve long term rewards.
Speaker: Dr Amitabh Sinha is at the Modeling and Optimization group at Amazon. He works on several areas in the optimization and data science space, primarily in the context of network optimization of Amazon’s outbound supply chain. Before joining Amazon in 2017, he was on the faculty of the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He received his PhD in Algorithms, Combinatorics and Optimization from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University.
