Curfew in Alice Springs a ‘band-aid solution’ to huge problem in Northern Territory
Northern Territory Police Association President Nathan Finn says the curfew in place in Alice Springs is a “band-aid solution” to a “huge problem” in the Northern Territory.
Northern Territory Chief Minister Eva Lawler has declared an ‘emergency situation’ in the Alice Springs CBD to combat crime.
A two-week youth curfew will be put in place as part of the response.
“Unfortunately, the NT government has proceeded with this curfew that they’ve placed in Alice Springs, again, making it very difficult, even if it is lawful, for our members to do that role,” Mr Finn told Sky News host Steve Price.
“Really, it’s just a band-aid solution to a huge problem we’re seeing in the Northern Territory.”

A juvenile with a weapon is just as deadly as an adult with a weapon.
We all know what the real problem is... But we are not allowed to say it.

The real problem is antisocial personality disorder, and other cluster B personality disorders, due to intergenerational domestic violence, neglect and abuse. Drugs and alcohol only adds fuel to the fire of Antisocial behaviour.

@@burglar42 So now it's the Jews fault?
This guy was a bit cowardly. The job of police is to enforce the laws in place, not to carry wet-wipes around to protect violent and disorderly youth. Lock-ups serve a purpose. BTW, sad to say, if lethal force is used just once by the police, many will take the situation seriously and think three times about threatening the police and acting violently.
What's the deal with Alice Springs? Is it inhabited by primitive primates?

Came across the "Alice Springs" story. Don't have much insight into the cultural nuances in Australia. I hear about an "issue" with eerie parallels in the U.S. Something about a percentage which relates to occasional unlucky Fridays.
Antisocial personality disorder, and other types of cluster b personality disorders are the problem in these communities. The solution to these problems aren't simple, and straight forward.
Lol... Never good when an opinionist with a drinking problem giives their advice about those with drinking problems....🥴 😆😆😆

Well I'll be the next opinionist with a drinking problem, but I've also studied psychology and criminology for 14 years. Drugs and alcohol are a relatively small part of the problem. Antisocial personality disorder, and other types of cluster B personality disorders are the main contributing factors to what is actually going on in Alice Springs.

@craig-zs4tlOh,ha,ha😂 At least I'm honest. It's more of a communal/domestic problem out there in Alice Springs. Drugs and alcohol just make things worse.
