I am part of the unfortunate 4% but currently only 2-3 PPD. This is the best explanation I have seen for the options. I am currently getting a Cystoscopy next week with advance mail sling scheduled 10 days later. I am 14 months out from my prostatectomy and wish I could have moved my urologists along a little faster with the options. I had 6 months of physical therapy that I had to beg mu urologist to get and that did help, but the biggest help was to quit using the Tamsulosin! I was 4 PPD and my doctor told me after the surgery to continue using it but never told me to stop. I quit and went to 2 PPD. My therapist was surprised that I was still on it. I am in Cincinnati which is not too far and wish I had watched this before I did anything.

what about bladder leakage without prostate surgery?? Feeling urgency and sometimes cant reach the bathroom in time.

Thank you for the information on the AUS. I wasn’t going to go through with it. My condition has caused me deep depression. But now I’m going to go back to my doctor and find out more about it.

Would you recommend medicine such as imipramine to help control urinary leakage?

If, after having the sling surgery the patient is not satisfactorily dry, is there an issue with implanting an AUS as a follow up treatment?

What if you just have the gland only and you still have the shell but not the gland ? Does the shell become part of the bladder? Are the nerves touched and ED can be problem? Do uses ga or a spinal when you have a HoLEP done? And why ? Who does the surgery the trainee Fellow or the interne? And should not tell or inform the patient?

So what's the best option for a paraplegic?

Why are doctors telling us what incontinence is, do they think patients do not know, after twenty years after my prostatectomy I am well aware of what incontinence is. Do they think we are stupid?

They love telling stories, but don't like your and my experience. Only 5% wil not regain continence, said my srgeon. Recent studies in the Netherlands point out that it's between 25 and 80% dependend on the surgeon and the hospital. They looked at the costs of the pads paid by the health insurance companies.

I don't know why I pee leaks on my pants, usually my right leg. It's not dribbling either. It happens when I pee and fall on my leg or fall, sometimes both.

I have bladder leakage and my peins need to be straightened

Yes, blood pressure meds can aggravate leakage. I had prostatectomy in 2008 and for a number of years was almost dry, losing only a few drops per day, usually didn't need a pad. Since going on bp meds a couple years ago, the leakage has increased to where I need to use a pad when doing anything physical such as taking a walk, doing yardwork, etc. I am thinking about the sling now.

I suspect it does especially with alcohol. I've personally witnessed one too many men on Rx's who had publicly urinated in their pants during my dog walks because I interrupted when they were unzipping and was about to go in a KFC bucket 🪣 in a parking lot.Another time a dude was waiting in line in Walmart,he left the line just to buy a new pair of pants,and threw his soiled up pants in the stores garbage,couple of female associates who saw what happened were cracking up!
