Very nice car, but what a gap between first presentation and actual sales…almost year. risks losing the freshness effect😊

VWs problem: I would always prefer the Cupra Born compared to ID.3. I would alwayd prefer Skoda Enyaq compared to ID.4. I used to prefer the Enyaq Coupe comapred to the ID.5. Now the Tavascan might take 1st place if I would have to chose one of these 3 cars.

Yes but still it will be way more expensive than the measuring stick of electric cars. Who wants an expensive but good looking VW car with bad performance.

How is that a problem for VW? These are all from the Volkswagen Corporation, you’re just part of the more sporty-youth oriented target group whereas older people or businesses will opt for the VW branded version.

@@Wuozlinga VAG wants a strong man brand VW. They don't want Skoda, Seat, Audi to sell more cars than VW. The Cupra Born started with several month delay, because VW wanted strong sales for the ID.3. Skoda had to reduce the output to make ID.4 looking better. Software updates are delayed for the other brands to give an advantage. But it's not only me. A lot of people prefer Seat or Skoda.

In 2022 VW car brand sold 4,6 million cars. With all due respect I do not believe that your preference in cars ( from the VW Group) is an issue for them. Giving customers different choices - VW, Skoda, Seat, Cupra or Audi - is business as usual for the the worlds 2. Biggest car Group 😊

It's my favourite looking EV. Since I saw it at the launch event at the IAA Munich show from memory. Although not coming to my market until 2025. :( Welcome to Australia, EV backwater. Only MEB car which has been nobbled by Cupra Australia is the Born. Thanks Kris, look forward to your range/efficiency tests when you get a chance to drive the production version.

I like the exterior. I think Cupra missed the mark on the interior. The 15 inch screen looks out of proportions to the rest of the dashboard. It doesn't fit the design and looks, at first sight like an afterthought. I think the compromise of design over storage spacein the middle console t9 dash space is skewed. I don't like how they designed the flowing design from the middel console swooping up toward the dash. Looks like an afterthought in design. Something feels off and rushed of this front dashboard design, fit and finish. I can't see and feel a holistic design in it. All in all the car looks okay with first impressions. Where the car feels off is in the front dashboard and middle console design.

Nice review. The only dissapointment it it will be year before we can see you drive it. (if they dont take orders before q2)

Exterior looks really good and the interior looks amazing. The only thing that is absolutely bewildering is why Cupra went with VW's stupid window switch gear and lame haptic touch on the steering wheel? Literally no one likes the two window buttons and the touch sensitive steering wheel buttons are terrible (it's super easy to accidentally touch them when turning the steering wheel).

Did you try it? We own a id5 and in our opinion it works really good the haptic feedback buttons work really good comming from the old style buttons of Volkswagen we Prefer the haptic feedback buttons.

I have always wondered what the Cupra Logo actually consists of, it doesn't seem to contain C and R for "Cup Racing" but it actually looks like a naked woman without a head 😉

Nice car with nice gimmicks. A bit late in the market I think.

Nice looking. Did you mention the price ? Possibly. Add your most important extras and you will not ever buy this car if you ar not insane. That´s why the Tesla Model Y is the most popular car on Earth.

If you only look at the price-performance ratio when buying a vehicle and don't care about the design, then of course you can prefer a Tesla. But there are also people who, when it comes to cars and the associated costs, primarily want a car that they like. They are sometimes willing to pay more money. Tesla may be technically better in many ways - but in some not. But when it comes to design, they will probably never convince everyone. On the contrary - the appearance is what keeps many people from considering a Tesla.

It's sad to see that the interior and parts of the exterior are still designed by a 12 year old. Why can't they make a sporty looking car that doesn't look like a gaming computer chassis? I love how the Cupra Born drives but the styling is just too much.

Cupra is a Seat from Barcelona, Spain. Bought by Volkswagen a long time ago. They created Cupra as a more sportive and expensive part of Seat, and now it is a standalone brand

China has their own import tariffs on cars as do most countries you simpleton. And you'd buy imported crap over the most American made world leading, most efficient, high performance and safest evs=tesla. 😏 Fyi they plan to make many smaller evs in Spain from late 2025 and those should be coming here for all you import lovers.
