@@taylorthrall7321 it's sporty enough yet maintains comfort on potholes and bumps. Car weight sits low so it's not a top heavy car you pilot in corners. The adjustable suspension might be interesting when you want to get more firm. Wouldn't spend my money on it though. It's steep.

Hi bought a V3. Picked up last week. TBH most of the annoying things everyone jumped on aren't THAT annoying. You can get an easy to fit split floor for £155. Yes a bit plasticky inside but I can forgive it for that. Getn 4.0 miles/kWh on my hilly 20 mile, 60 Mph route. Not bad as I don't F around Accelerating. Came off a Mk 7.5 Golf GTi performance. Don't miss it. Carwow got 0-60 in 6.7 seconds. Not too shabby.

Regarding the eboost on the Born ..a German channel tested the high performance version a few months ago on mountain roads.. Thomas exclaimed ’Holy Moley! ...what is this ?"...with a big grin....his, not easily impressed camera man, commented "it's like a go kart !" Thomas then added for the editor ”we had better add : Don't try this at home!... Professional drivers only." Since then I have been looking forward to Wookie and team giving their reaction, so Wookie ....find that eboost test car !

Like you, Wookie, I much prefer the look of the Cupra to its sister iD.3 And, again like you, the fact that they've actually made an effort to 'spruce up' the interior quality and finish makes it absolutely the better car. 👍

They are building mine week commencing 13th of June! Ordered v2 White with sunroof & heat pump! Came to 36500 think it went up by 2000 on 1 of April so was just in time! (Ordered 28th of March!) Was looking at Renault E-tech it got great reviews, however a couple of things, it looks like less room in the back, it looks darker inside (rear window looks smaller!) But the one thing that really made me think is its a Renault! Had a bad experience with a Scenic which i bought brand new when it first came out! The diesel Engine cracked after 60,000 miles! it was 5 years old by then! Swore I wouldn't buy another! Also my girlfriend had a Qashqai (mainly Renault parts) And she had problems with electronics! So not so sure about them! Currently driving the latest seat Leon FR, got use to the infotainment system (this is probably one of the area where the Renault Google system will trump it) Its probably not the worst but not the best! That said i did notice on the test drive the Born was an improvement! Maybe wish i had ordered sound system upgrade

This is an ID3, just better in every way than the VW version. As for the interior, the update to the ID3 cannot come soon enough because the ID3 is cheap and bad cheap at that - far too much glossy black plastic. I want to find out who in the car industry decided that glossy black plastic in cars was a good idea - undoubtable a bloke who doesn't drive a car and has no children - and make him eat the plastic. For me, as at June 2022, my options would be the Born or the Ora Cat (which technically has not been launched here yet). The problem I have is that some of the options, such as the heat pump, are not really options and makes the Born a bit too expensive

The one aspect I don't like is the instrument console. It looks very Nintendo like, cheap and an afterthought. The entertainment portion do look and feel more premium. The so-called "boost" function is purely a gimmick. The whole idea with an EV is about getting efficient use of energy. Not wasting it on robot to robot racing. One day when a proper electrical network is available in South Africa and EV's do become truly affordable, it would be great to have one. Currently EV's in SA is a dead horse.

11kW A.C. Charging seems poor. There are lots of 22kW type 2 chargers knocking about so you'll be hamstrung. Not good enough at this price, on this type of car imo. Demand more people!!

I wonder if they'll release a cupra born with a petrol engine. Really like the car :)

I believe Cupra just unveiled their last ICE car. Also you could not fit a petrol engine on an EV platform, unless you want to go hacky

No roof rack or tow bar option for lugging bikes about. They don't seem you have thought about that with the smaller MEB platform cars. Besides that it's a lovely car but Renault Megane seems like a better option if you want to use it to transport family+bikes/roof box.

So even starting basic at £32.5K , your not going to get the maximum range coefficients without adding extra's and that costs. No thanks Tom - Keep it, it is not my cup of tea.

making a +2.2t vehicle handle and ride properly requires 3 chamber air blah blah with 48v active roll blah blah, which costs a lot of money and premium manufacturers can justify this on expensive SUV's. boggo springs can't work miracles, and this is the result. I feel sorry for those poor tires as well.

Lads we need to be honest here. The id3 is not a good car. Odd and awkward looking, poor quality interior, awful media and cabin controls. Drives OK. The cupra has a slightly less bad look and slightly better cabin but really it's just the same with a little spinkle. It's OK. Nothing more and it's not loved in this review at all. The megane e coming at least looks good. This is a poor VAG effort and will not dominate the market

All these reviews of electric cars are rubbish. Drive this down "Thomas Street, Mountain Ash" at 20mph and see how your bodywork and battery survive. Low slung cars and low batteries cannot handle some of these speed bumps etc. Sweeping curves smooth roads oh so great. Sh1te roads and speed humps tell me how well the ride quality is. You'll be out Heckington bodywork and battery condition straight after you drive down that road for sure. Thes roads are not unique. Real roads real conditions are what is required in these reviews. Not BS "Fast", "Agile" & "Responsive" comments.

I'd go with the ID.3. The Cupra will lose it's value the moment it's wheels touch the tarmac. ID.3, being a VW, would keep it's value in the long run.
