Cuban Anoles are severely underrated. I brought one home from the wild as hatchling and it became one of the sweetest reptiles I ever had. It might have been a one in a million chance to get an anole so friendly, but if you can tame one they are very rewarding.

You are spot on! I've always loved them since I was a kid. You are lucky there. They are not all that bad in general but I think they are just skittish more than anything. I will keep working with her and hopefully have the same luck. Thanks for checking out my video 👍

I agree. My Cuban Anoles ( Pogo and Esmeralda) are as sweet as a reptile can be. I hand feed them, handle them daily and let visitors hold them, have never had them gape or flare. They are sweet and intelligent once you gain thier trust-

Everywhere I look it says that they don't warm up to you very well and don't make good pets. However, the one I caught in my backyard was easy to catch and calmed down really quick. I would describe them as quite docile and slow. I would think this would make them an excellent pet. The one I caught still hangs around in my backyard and the only time I've ever seen him move somewhat quickly was when he was chasing another knight anole.

I got a Cuban Knight Anole in April (she was sold to me as a male) and she took about a month to calm down. My advice on handling is when they flare up, don't go away. Stay there until they calm down and then go away. Four days after I got her was the first time I tried to handle her. She tried to bite me like five times, but I handled her every day and she learned that I was not a threat and that she didn't scare me.

Hi, I’m thinking of getting a Cuban Knight Anole, my tank is 30’ L 18’ Deep, and 18’ tall, note this tank is literally a topless tank so I’ll be outfitting it with a bunch of stuff anyways, so I can increase the height if need be too, but at present is that large enough?

Hi, I just got my first Cuban Knight Anole and my temperature at night are around 75-80 degrees, never less or even low 70's, but sometimes he is very dark and seems to need more heat. During the day the beautiful colors are coming back, temperature are arround 85-90 degrees, not more than 90, and the bottom of the terrarium is at 75-80, but he seems to not moove a lot. He moove sometimes, I don't see him really eat cause he is also shy but I hink he is eating his crickets I don't see a lot of them still. He drinks easily everyday and the humidity is always high between 65-80%. I just want to know if I should give him more heat at night or something, I don't want him to overheating of course that's why I'm really stressed and confused. What to do for him to be more active during the day ?Maybe I should put a light for the plants and him too, I have a heat lamp 100W and a UVB lamp Arcadia. My terrarium is 36x18x36, got natural plants and some branches of course for him. I would love any help please, I really want to be the best owner for him.

Hey man I’ve got a quick couple of questions. So I was tasked to watch a family friends knight anole. And that’s fine but it was only supposed to be for about 2 months so I was left with the sorta minor care necessities. But now with the COVID thing going on it’s making the owner much difficult to retrieve the animal. Being that she was kicked out of university under evac and went across the country to stay with her parents. And obviously my priority is to keep it alive and well. And so I was wondering what would be the sorta better items for long term care? I just want to keep it healthy for a now much longer amount of time. Any tips?

*do these critters draw blood if they bite? I'm usually raising regular anoles, and I know they do have a good grip with their teeth if they bite,I also am aware that iguanas will rip your skin into shreds (speaking from experience) so I'm wondering if these sized anoles will also draw blood if they bite??*

Not sure if you are aware, but naming the anole Castro is very insensitive. Fidel Castro was a cruel ruler and it’s sad to hear that most people don’t understand just how bad he was. I’m sure you didn’t mean anything by it but I think you should know.
