Cuba National Anthem English lyrics
El Himno de Bayamo (The Bayamo Anthem) is the national anthem of Cuba. It was first performed during the Battle of Bayamo in 1868. Perucho Figueredo, who took part in the battle, wrote and composed the song. The melody, also called La Bayamesa, was composed by Figueredo in 1867. On October 20, 1868 the Cuban forces obtained the capitulation of the Spaniard authorities in Bayamo, the jubilant people surrounded Figueredo and asked him to write an anthem with the melody they were humming. Right on the saddle of his horse, Figueredo wrote the lyrics of the anthem, which was longer than the current official version. Figueredo was captured and executed by the Spaniards two years later. Just before the firing squad received the Fire command, Figueredo shouted the line from his anthem: Morir por la Patria es vivir. Officially adopted in 1902, the anthem was retained after the revolution of 1959. The arrangement commonly used, without credit in Cuba, is believed to be that of José Norman, author of Cuban Pete. The Cuban composer Antonio Rodriguez-Ferrer, was the author of the musical introductory notes to the Cuban national anthem.
In addition to the Himno de Bayamo, there are two other well-known Cuban songs called La Bayamesa. The first Bayamesa was composed in 1851 by Carlos Manuel de Céspedes and José Fornaris at the request of their friend Francisco Castillo Moreno, who is sometimes also credited with the lyrics. Many years later, in 1918, the composer and trovador Sindo Garay, from Santiago de Cuba, composed a song that he called Mujer Bayamesa; popular usage shortened the title to La Bayamesa.

@@madenichi2400 no. 1. America had missiles in iran + turkey. 2. those were SOVIET MISSILES, cuba just happened to have them as a means of defence to scare the usa away from invading cuba, as the usa had tried to do before.
Originally this anthem was written in 1867, and it was longer with a total of 10 stanzas. Then in 1902 the first 2 stanzas were adopted as the national anthem.

Your statement is as good as saying "there is air quality in Chernobyl." Every country has computers, internet and police etc. Quality is not the mere fact in having them, but the liberty that goes along with them. I know many Cubans that have internet, but it is censored (can't even use Skype!) and police that are ready to defend against those that violate laws like eating beef, having a generator, or even being an outspoken dissident. Talks have been peaceful, but true peace begins at home.
Long live cuba may it be free from the castro regime.

Manduh Speak for yourself, I'm Cuban and in Miami. It doesn't bother me either way. Free speech is for everyone, not just Neo Nazis. Bothering someone over a disagreement of ideas is....pretty much what they do in Cuba isn't it? I understand why he feels as he does. Because that bastard helped free a lot of people in other countries that the US broke. It's not so easy to say he's 100% evil or that Cuban Exiles are 100% good. Exiles worked for the CIA in committing terrorist acts across the planet. They even helped fight to protect the Apartheid State in South Africa. Meanwhile Castro supported Mandela. And Che actually fought along side him. And a good size portion of the exile Community is made up of War Criminals. I know. I have a few in my family who think "democracy" is what Pinochet did to Chile. This man here, got 46 likes on his comment. Clearly he isn't the only one who feels the way he does. When Castro died, the majority of the African Nations and other countries where he backed Revolutions or Democratic elections, mourned him. Meanwhile all these moron Balseros danced around saying "Thank God for Trump" and wearing Trump masks when Castro died. The same idiots who have no problem with Orange Hitler putting kids in cages. They complain about Castro endlessly while ignoring War Crimes committed by the US. Ignoring how Cops kill children of color in the streets, with many Cubans saying blacks "deserve it" because they agitate cops. They don't give three shits that in Chicago for example, there's a black site controlled by the Police called "Homan Square" (look it up) where activists have been tortured. They don't care about attacks on nonviolent protesters in North Dakota over the DAPL Pipeline which poisoned water for the Sioux. They don't care that the NSA is spying on our calls while they bitch and moan about the Cuban government doing it. Or that this government has kidnapped US Citizens in rendition flights for torture. No, anyone who says anything about AmeriKKKa for being immoral is automatically a "communist" and everything is fake news. I'm Cuban, my grandparents still live in La Havana Vieja, La Habana, Cuba. So no, I don't need links to whatever someone says about people in Cuba having their basic needs covered since that was the last 40-50 years, but is no more, and computers? really?... please... Also, no one kills you or puts you in prisson in Cuba for speaking against the government, but you get marked as a black sheep, that is a fact. My father came to Spain for a reason.

Cuba is free, It has never been a communist Country, Fidel Castro was a Socialist Dictator who had been voted in by his people and was loved by them. He gave Cuba Freedom from the Americans who ran it with Barentista. Cuba is a great nation with a great leader and is free.
