Bulgaria National Anthem English lyrics
Mila Rodino ("Мила Родино", translated as "Dear Motherland" or "Dear native land") is the current national anthem of Bulgaria. It is based on the music and text of the song "Gorda Stara Planina" by Tsvetan Radoslavov, written and composed as he left to fight in the Serbo-Bulgarian War in 1885. The anthem was adopted in 1964. The text has been changed numerous times, last in 1990.
Between 1886 and 1944, the Bulgarian national anthem was Shumi Maritsa ("Шуми Марица"); from 1950 to 1964, it was Balgariyo mila, zemya na geroi ("Българийо мила, земя на герои"); in the brief period between these two, the march "Republiko nasha, zdravey" ("Републико наша, здравей!") was used instead of an anthem.

It truly is the best. I'm not saying it because I'm Bulgarian. I listen to a lot of hymns and there are few that match the power of this one.

When I was in the Bulgarian army we used to listen to the anthem every evening and every time I got the goosebumps. I guess our anthem has that energy. Even after so many years of listening to it I still got goosebumps. I know our anthem touches people in a way. Thanks for acknowledging our culture.

I love Bulgaria During the 80s my Father fleed from Iraq from the Saddam Regime to Bulgarian among other Kurdis and Iraqis and was also in an University and he also worked i think an different Job than in University and was most of the time in Plovdiv. He enjoyed it and leaved in the end of the 80s to Germany and gone back to Iraq where he meeted my Mother and they gone to Germany in 1992 and we Kurds get persecuted. This year i was in Bulgaria and my Family and my father after almost 30 years again and i love this Country Varna & Sofia and the rest of the Country. Also Bulgarian Culture and Language is wonderful and i love your History aswell and your History is great and not forgetting your braveness against Wahhabis you showed it in the last 200 years. Greets from an Iraqi Kurdi in Germany my Aryan Bros & It is also funny how Bulgarian & Kurdish is so similar but i beat its from the Ottomans Day and hope you get Vardaska back.

Respect from Albania! Love you Bulgaria! I will go in a trip there with my classmates even why though in 9th grade we will visit Sofje,Bulgaria in a school trip and I am looking forward to it!- Surprisingly enough at least one word each row I understood the meaning maybe because albanian is similar to bulgarian(roots during ancient times).

That is true. Bulgarians don't seem to be loved much on the Balkan peninsula simply cause we cam from Asia and took their lands. Also Tangra god > Christian one :P

This anthem is one of the best European anthems and I bet many of you Bulgarians , stand proud with your heads held high when this anthem plays . If this anthem was mother Uk's where Ian from - I would be proud and honoured to have anthem like this . Also I do the same as the young girl , but with other anthems as well and I'm a 16 year old boy , is it weird that I listening to the anthems and like to listen which has the best rhythm and words and I some times sing along to in their language , which I usually can pronounce correctly . Bulgarians are welcoming since medieval times, for us everyone was welcome into our society and be part of Bulgaria but that was destoryed as a structure after the Ottomans conquered it, even after our liberation behind the hatred there is still place for understanding and excepting of people and cultures. Bulgarians arent mad at turkish people, especially modern ones but are angry to have lost the progress we had.
