“Fida’i” was declared the anthem of Palestinians by the Palestinian Liberation Organization (an organization charged with the governance of Arab Palestinians) in 1972, in advance of their 1988 declaration of independence. The anthem, also known as the “Anthem of the Intifada” (or “Anthem of the Palestinian Revolution”) was written by Said Al Muzayin (also known as Fata Al Thawra (“The Rebel Boy”)), and its music was composed by Egyptian maestro Ali Ismael. While being the official national anthem for use in the areas currently controlled by the Palestinian government, “Mawtini” is considered an “unofficial Palestinian anthem”, popular with many Palestinians, and was considered the Palestinian anthem before “Fida’i” was adopted.
The word “فدائي” (fida’i), in addition to being the anthem’s title, appears several times in the anthem as well. The term is difficult to express in a single word or two in English; it refers to a man (the feminine form is “fida’iya”, plural is “fida’iyeen”) who is willing to sacrifice his life. The object that he will sacrifice to can be anything, his lover, tribe, religion, etc., but in the modern sense it is usually meant as a sacrifice to your country. It has been translated various ways in the anthem, depending on context, the terms “sacrificer”, “resistor”, “freedom fighter” or “revolutionary” could all express the intended meaning to an extent.

Dalam perjalanannya, leluhur mereka, yakni orang-orang Kanaankemudian berbaur dengan Mesir, Mesopotamia, dan orang-orang Anatolia secara intensif. Lebih lanjut, tertulis juga dalam buku-buku para sejarawan Yunani bahwa di Yunani ditemukan orang-orang Palestina yang datang dari Kanaan pada 1500 SM. Konon, mereka datang berbondong-bondong dari Jazirah Arab. Lebih lanjut, tertulis juga dalam buku-buku para sejarawan Yunani bahwa di Yunani ditemukan orang-orang Palestina yang datang dari Kanaan pada 1500 SM. Konon, mereka datang berbondong-bondong dari Jazirah Arab.Sejumlah ahli arkeologi berpendapat, bahwa suku Nathufiyyah adalah manusia pertama yang mendiami wilayah utara Al-Quds, wilayah pantai dan di goa-goa dekat gunung Karmel, kira-kira pada 14.000-8.000 tahun Sebelum Masehi. Pada awal sejarah menunjukan bahwa kabilah-kabilah Arabiyyah (bangsa Kan'an, Amuriyyah, Yabusiyyah, dan Finikiyyah) adalah bangsa yang paling pertama mendiami wilayah Palestina.Berdasarkan kesepakatan para ahli sejarah barat maupun timur, yaitu kira-kira pada tahun 2.500 SM. Mereka menetap di wilayah pantai dan gunung-gunung.Adapun Yabusiah, mereka mendiami kawasan Al-Quds dan membangun kota di sana yang dinamakan kota Yabus. Dengan demikian bangsa Palestina saat ini adalah keturunan suku-suksu tersebut. Suku Kan'an membangun 119 kota. Sementara bangsa Yahudi tidak ada ada satupun tanda-tanda pernah mendiami kawasan ini. sebagaimana disebutkan kitab Taurat maupun Injil. Pada tahun 2.000 s.d. 1200 SM, daerah ini dipimpin oleh Haksus (Heksos). Wilayah ini bisa menyempit dan meluas, tergantung siapa yang memerintahnya. Namun wilayahnya tidak sampai ke luar kawasan Syam (Syam saat ini terdiri dari Suriah, Jordania,lebanon, dan palestina). Nama Palestina Nama Palestina waktu itu belum ada, yang ada adalah tanah Kan'an (Ardhu Kan'an), karena yang mendiaminya adalah bangsa Kan'an.

I am Israeli and I am with my country, but I honestly believe the current government is very oppressive to the people of its country but even more to Palestinians, I wish there could be a compromise so both people could live together but there will always be people who dont want that. It is extremely sad to me
