I would say I generally agree, but cs2 being announced is not a dumb reason to buy. It means CS:GO would most likely get growth in new players, bring back old players, guns looks nicer etc.

I think it actually comes down to the fundamentals of a free market. The supply is increasing because everyone is putting their skins that they've been storing up for sale, and demand hasn't increased yet. More supply at the same demand means prices fall. Either we've over estimated the rise in demand for skins, or it just hasn't risen quite yet, in part due to the game coming out taylored towards competitive play and not new players.

I don't see a lot of sales yet at some of the lower prices. I think it's probably people selling what they don't want anymore or people that held for a while and now they're selling cause it's out. Also I think people are trying to get some other skins. I mean we're going to get a new case or something soon ish for sure

Why the release is disappointing: - paris still on sale - no community servers - no workshop maps - no war games - only 4 wingman maps - train, cache, tuscan, agency, many other maps missing - no danger zone - no operation - no new case - what happened to series 4 pins ?

I agree that the CS2 release was a bit underwhelming, but Valve isn't going to jump ship now. There will certainly be small updates until CS2 has at least most of the features of GO, and that'll probably start soon.

i think they cornered themselves, they hyped the summer release and they found out cs2 wasn't ready. so instead of a delay they bit the bullet and released a "barebones" version of cs2. development wise it's probably easier too since they can bug fix and tweak the content as it rolls out instead of all at once with a huge update

Releasing a full complete game would be very demanding for them as there will be more bugs etc to fix in all the game modes, maps and all that. And don't forget CS is not a game that gets released and that's it. It's always meant to be evolving and growing for years to come

I sold my USP whiteout as soon as the game launched because in beta, they removed 90% of the wear, but on launch they added 200% wear, and I assumed it was supposed to look like that and wanted to get my money back before it tanked; 16 hours later they updated it with the patch LMAO. (Yes I re-bought, whiteout is sick af)

Its a combination of this and people preemptively cashing out so they have the money to invest in the upcoming operation. More supply in the market with less demand for them as demand is shifting to the new skins using new weapon models

Sold my high tier skins just before release, cant be happier.

The AWP Asiimov is broken because even in low float, now it looks horrible and has cracks all over it, etc.

A few months ago i started buying the 2015 flusha foils startin at like 60 cents. The most i paid for one is like 88 cents. They are up to 4 something now. Easily my best investment on this game lol

That's why I only collect old skins, pretty stable prices and they only go slowly up

I just want to say I called it… a month or so ago you made a video about the price “bubble” and I guessed so many people were hoarding these high tier items planning to sell on release. Now with a large supply and a lot of underwhelmed buyers, overall prices fell…. As an owner it does kinda suck, but that’s why we trust the numbers and not Reddit.

I will say its interesting to see the little awkward ducks that seemed to go up in price, like black pearls. Some of them went up for some reason, and i wonder if its because relatively speaking, there isnt as many to go around

Pretty much all cases have gone up on release. I think that a lot of people quicksold their items to get cases to open because they added opening to cs2.

this is another good reason to look at but imo people have had months to stockpile and invest. finally the game releases and they are selling regardless. the game release wasnt very good so the demand is far lower than anyone expected, hence the constant undercutting and year. not worried personally it will correct and go back up when new content is added

a lot of missing features. i think they shouldnt have deleted csgo yet

you can play on CS:GO community servers if you run the demo viewer, which is just CS:GO but with no Valve servers

The 2 knives I got did not dip at all, lol, sold at a 20 percent gain to buy something that has dipped now. :D

can you buy so much of the cheapest case that it moves the price up until you're forced to buy the next cheapest and just do a massive quick unbox? that would be awesome 👍

why didnt u get after 650 cases?

this may also be because we are in a kind of limbo right now, the game is out and our skins are still changing on the daily and people never know if they skin can be changed for better or worse.

I hate that certain skins now have scratches added to them, I had low floats now now show wear to them or certain stickers no longer look good... Needs to be fixed

My knifes crashed so hard that they are worth hundreds of dollars more than a week ago.

My inv was 7k couple months ago, I sold it for over 12k now. I dont care if i could make more. It was playskins and alot of dopplers and i now have 5k extra from just owning skins :-)

Im all in on CS2. Just bought my first pair of gloves and couldn't be happier. The game feels decent to me, isnt as clean as CSGO, but as stated it will all come with time as well as additional content. Valve is obviously going to focus on whats important to the vast majority of players and it seems like that is what they provided us. I just hope that the lesser used features of CSGO get added so it doesnt feel like a step backwards.

Some cs players are strange, they wanted to play the new update as quickly as possible, now that it's out they are complaining that some features that barely change the base gameplay of the game are not present, I'm a new CS player, and in all the most recent games I played there was someone complaining that the brightness was too strong and that getting a headshot was impossible, I'm not a good player, but most of my kills are headshots and the game brightness is on par with any other modern game.

On the gambling sites drama crash I bought myself play skins and old cases, on release I sold my chroma 2 cases with 30% profit. Maybe people invested into skins during the dip and were planning to sell them on release like I did with cases, just it wasn't the best option, i dont think that it was all cause of underwhelming release. Investing scene is becoming more and more popular so there is more people making mistakes like this, or they don't have patience for waiting with their investments, maybe frustration with outcome that they expected and didn't happen, who would know. There is many factors to this market crash.

I'll tell you what happened because it happened to me... they went into CS2 yesterday and saw all their skins looked like sh!+ and decided to sell before everyone else logged in and thought the same and sold... I have skins with 0.001 floats with scratches all over them, my usp whiteouts looked horrible and the market reflected that. mw usp whiteout was $53 before launch, after launch $40. they look better today but the damage is done.

To say people are "dumb" or "smart" based on investment decisions is due to the bias of already knowing what's going to happen. People who invested and sold when the market was at it's peak made a LARGE profit, which is why so many people started investing. It's just like a real life economy where you don't know exactly what's going to happen (especially before lmfao) and when the prices are volatile it's more of a high risk high reward situation than if the market is stable.

People panicking over CS2 did not experience the OPskins era. An investor like me love a panic sell, those are the greatest opportunities to profit.

I can understand why prices are going down, but can someone explain to me why valve decided to downgrade skins and knifes such as m9 black laminate bs or karambit black laminate bs?? Like yesterday they were looking dark and black but today they are just brown ugly color like sht??? Like thats the point of changing exactly this skin if it was, in my opinion, finished and done in first month of beta, there was no reason at all changing it.

Im just confused at why they didnt even announce it on the steam market homepage. I guess the Steam Schump festival is more important to them?
