Oli is a killer bassist no wonder cattle decapitation hired him. Guitarist could do with some practice but overall live sound is always tight with flo on drums. Matt’s vocals don’t fit the none so vile stuff but their modern stuff is where he’s really good

I am an old Death Metal fan born & raised in Tampa(Original Death Metal Scene). Cryptopsy just came to my attention 45 minutes ago. They are playing at the Brass Mug Tuesday the 12th of Sept. 2023. Matt is not lord, Lord is not Matt; how can there not be a difference. But I saw them live and Matt is a great frontman, sounds way more powerful in person, puts on a good show. The writing of the modern incarnation is badass, very complex, no easy feat to do. Play Book of Suffering to a novice and they won't know what the hell is going.

My favorite "Vocalists" were Mike DiSalvo and Martin LaCroix so i am fine with this guy. I was never into Lord Glowworm ;-)

You really listen to death metal for the poetry? It's almost better if you can't understand it...Maybe you should try Bob Dylan or Warren Zevon if you are looking for lyrical fulfillment. This guy is raw, guttural, angry and in key. Perfect for this music. Who gives a damn about what is said in between songs. He is just buying time for the band to rest.

New singer is OK'ish but definately has a lot less distinct character than Worm. A bit too 'like every other DM vocalist'

Man I don't understand people who complain about this guys vocals and at the same time saying that Lord Worm is good. Lord Worm is piece of shit vocalist and basically he's barking most of the time. I don't really get it. I like his delivery on the first two albums and that's it, but he can't even come close to DiSalvo. DiSalvo was the best Cryptopsy vocalist ever and the story ends here. This guy is relatively ok, on the albums at least.

Totally agree man! This young guy just continues where Lord Worm left, nothing more nothing less. This is a good lineup but i suggest Flo to demand a change in vocal style to somethning more convincing and "normal" instead of this hilarious grunts and screams.

i was there and lasted three songs. not bad actually given it was retardedly loud as well. now dont get me wrong, i love how sick and tehcnical they are and everything, but its just damn tiring to listen to. with this whole tech death stuff there was really a point where becoming more technical and sick didnt bring any additional benefit. i remember when antithesis by origin and this brain drill album came out a couple years ago, i was super stoked, but after a few spins i just realized, necrophagist was the last thing pushing the envelope that is actually listenable. cryptopsy also kept pushing to be more and more extreme, but its a dead end. in comparison, gorguts did it right. that said, maybe someone just had to do it for everyone to find out what it brings.
