Thank You!
I did a Unite the Slavs campaign playing as the Piasts from Poland which went well. Reformed the faith along the way, converted to feudalism, and eventually even had a religious schism to install the witch kings of Poland as the temporal heads of faith. Was a fun game.

Thanks!
There's a 50/50 chance that frances tries to me murder me as haestienn
I'm not sure if this is historical or not, but i found that looking through rostam's parents in the game will eventually lead to one of the zoroastrian persian emperors , just a cool little thing
Before I even watched this video I discovered the king of U a while ago while looking for someone to play. I managed to restore the tibetan empire in less than 100 years and remade the tibetan faith. Fun playthrough
I love these fun start and local guide videos!!! Ur the only one making them great content

Did Haestan campaign when the Adveturers update came out. "Adventured" to Rome and made Aastru Italy.
When you say “Count Ekkehard of Chalon is completely fictional” it reminds me of one of the Germanic lords I used to play as. I would often create a new character around Angria and Thüringia to try and best represent my family’s history. Totally fictional😂But it DID happen😏👌🏽
I like to go straight to England with haesteinn and create the Cornwall kingdom.
Liked for the content, subscribed for your history knowledge.
Thanks, I'm gonna try Ü. I think I will keep the religion and try to solve the "situation" with my brother through some intrigue
Dude love the video definitely got a sub here

Hopped into haestien invaded a country immediately got crushed by france
As far as Haesteinn is concerned, I usually use the Varangian Adventure cassus beli (sorry for any mispellings) and then invade Sardinia and Corsica.
I took Haestein to India and formed the empire of Nordia. There is also an achievement to take a Viking to the east and Haestein is the easiest option to get that achievement.
Subscribed as number 776. I’ll come back to this comment when your channel is huge in the future because your content is on point 👌 nice to have a fellow history buff who cares for the time periods in these games

Thanks so much!
You just got yourself a new subscriber, good sir. It would be great if you could show the decisions tab If you ever do another video in this style. I think a special decision (like revenge the battle of tours as muslim in Iberia) always improves the campaign

Thanks for the subscription and that’s a great idea.
bavandids have been my go to campaign for a longtime now, they are actually harder in ck3 867 start than ck2's 769 start even though you are in the middle of the much expanded Abbasid caliphate. as far as how to get by first step alter your contract with your liege to get protected religion so he is not converting your provinces, i usually exchange higher levies next conquer gurgan and gilan marry off with an eye to getting a powerful indian ally if your liege gets in to any wars jump in and help him out. you want to keep your liege somewhat powerful or you will get dog piled next up conquer any fellow vassals usually its only the dutchy of ray. fabricate claims then conqure your liege and you now have a realm stronger than alavids. depending on how the abbasids are doing your next target should be the dutchy of Azerbaijan in order to form the kingdom of daylam one you have a kingdom title you are pretty much set, and is definitely doable within the lifetime of rostam in my current bavandid play through i hold the entire middle east, everything north of persia border with Estonia and bohemian hold all of the byzantine lands nearly all of italy the entire iberian peninsula except Portugal and i just took the kingdom west francia

Great tips and sounds like a fun campaign
Tell us about more of these fictional characters! CK2 had an achievement for Aladin
I am playing a Piast campaign at the moment - such great fun ! Maybe I’ll take up another continent next time - or I am playing unrochinger 😃
The count of Monte cristo!
Count Poppo in Thuringia is a super fun start. The duchy itself has some extremely useful counties and baronies, and the starting county is not far from some mines to the northwest. As East Francia collapses around you it's fairly easy to gobble up territory and quickly become the cultural head of the Franconians. From there I like to expand west and make my way towards Cologne and make the Duchy of Thuringia my military focused duchy and Cologne my economy focused duchy, eventually moving my capital to Cologne once the surrounding area is fortified. From there the world is kind of your oyster. You can conquer all france and germany, you can raise up the new holy roman empire. You can try to wipe out the vikings. Conquer England and their realm. You're just in a good spot to do anything you want. One time the pope kept excommunicating my family members and regardless of if they deserved it or not I felt he was picking on me when he happened to be an evil bastard himself. So I conquered Rome, and the family never gave it back for over 300 years. Take that Pope Hadronius! Also converted the culture there to Franconian and the innovation speed for the culture skyrocked. So that was nice.

Also, naming your sons Mr. Poppo is kind of funny.
Hey there... great content and I had to try the Nibelunging start. But turns out, there actually seems to have been a dynasty or cadet branch of the Arnulfing called that way descendant from a younger brother of Carl Martell.

Interesting. I couldn’t find any references anywhere, but will certainly look into it now
Haesteinn is a fun start, a couple quick allies then I marched him straight to Rome, then Jerusalem eventually dismantled the papacy with him and toppled Byzantine

Very cool!
I never thought this was Haesteinn from TLK. I didn't even know the character from the show was an actual person but even so, they seem like the opposites comparing game to show!

Yeah, they basically just took the name and nothing else
With Haesteinn the only logical route to go is to Mars.... The guy can conquer anything
How about playing as Jarl Dyre “Bas tard” son of Ragnarr and make him Mogyer Taltosist?
If I start as Carelia, My dynasty name is my wife’s actual surname. Unfortunately my own name is not available.
For my Mazandran run, I 1) declared independence then swore fealty, rinse repeat until I could stand on my own as a kingdom 2) made sure all my prisoners were forced to convert to spread Zoroastrianism 3) rushed to conquer Gurgan and Gurlan until to get a foothold 4) INDIA IS YOUR FRIEND! You can get some very strong alliances from relatively nearby kingdoms since Zoroastrians can marry Hindus, Jains, Buddhists etc. 5) having vassals convert saves you a lot of time, it lets your priest build piety, which you'll need for holy wars 6) specialising in military is the strongest early on but diplomacy and espionage are best for when you get quite big so that you can destabilise your neighbours. I was able to seduce the queen of Byzantium so that her heir was my son but unfortunately I wasn't able to take over that way, couldn't figure out how or the game wouldn't let me. Anyways, yeah those are my tips!

Fun Fact: Bavandids were the descendants of Sassanids who actually ruled the Persian Empire

19:10 - because he likes saying UH, obviously
Im surprised that you didn't mention all the Kingdom Invasion opportunities for Haestinn. You can take over any Kingdom in Europe or in the Mediterranean with little effort at game start.

I realized that during editing, but didn't want to record everything again.
I would take Haesteinin to Sardina great place to go with the gold mine ... or even Rome
Vids are really interesting man you should get a job as a museum guide or something!

Not to bust your balls but Siemowit is rather mythological figure, created centuries later by medieval historians when they were writing history of Mieszko the 1st.
Fun start is to play Isle of Man and make custom Isle of Man kingdom 🤪

Haesteinn from the last kingdom isnt based of this haesteinn he a character from the books the show is based on hes just some kid uhtred saved and brought into his service then breaks his oath and becomes a consistent pest for almost the whole series so far but in the books hes a coward and a liar so thats why hes like that in the show
