Definitely true that panthers are farther north than most records will show. I'm almost positive I found panther tracks in a creekbed on my Grandparents farm when I was a kid probably 10-15 years ago, this was up by the Florida-Georgia line. It was either that or the biggest bobcat to walk this earth. I was obsessed with animal tracks when I was that age and would identify them and make casts sometimes (sadly didn't have plaster that day). The only thing remotely comparable in size in my big book of animal tracks was a lion. It was a huge felid print (obviously retracted claws).
