Hi julie, I love your Cowell, I attempted to crochet it using Lion Brand-Hometown USA, it was a super bulky 6, but didn't get the same affect as the picture in your tutorial, was that the wrong #6.

That's cool. I never thought double crochet was beginner-friendly. I always thought it was single but I think it depends on the person.

Hi! I love this stitch! It's fun, easy and works up quickly. My only issue is that my finished project comes out w a lean in the stitch pattern. What am I doing wrong???

What would be some good yarn substitutions as I don’t believe I have ever seen it. I seen the Amazon link. I had rather purchase my yarn in stores. Any suggestions on a substitute for a different yarn would be great. I love Red Heart I just have never seen this anywhere! Never mind, I seen the yarn substations. Thank you.

Lion brand is a good choice of yarn. I love their yarns.

It depends which ones you buy. I used the jumbo skeins and it was about 1 1/2. For the regular size skeins, refer to the yardage to make sure you buy enough 🙂

Multiples of how many if I want to change the size?

Seems like multiples of three. You skip two, and stitch in the next, so three.

What do you mean by a "regular yarn"? If you use a yarn smaller than a #6 super bulky, you'll need to modify the pattern otherwise it will come out smaller than mine.

They have some fun yarns! I’ve used a lot of Red Heart Soft. It was my favorite when I used to make a lot of amigurumi. I’ve used it for hats and cowls too. One of my fave acrylic yarns for sure! :)

So you say to use a size P hook, 10mm. My 10mm hook is marked N. My p hook is marked 15mm. Which should I ACTUALLY use?

Always go by the mm size. Different brands give their hooks different letters sometimes. The mm size is what you need to look for. 😊👍🏼

The Mountains Cowl is very similar but made with worsted weight yarn ;)
