This is so beautiful and it looks like it crochet up quickly, which I'm all about since I go between about 5 different projects at the time because of my ADD . I'm always looking for projects I can complete in a day or 2 and this looks perfect! Thank you! I'm going to start on it today. Thank you for the pattern. Super easy quick pattern. I used one skein of Premier Basix Worsted in Gray using an L hook and made the scarf part a bit longer. it is so soft and yummy I wore it all day!

Yes, it was a great tutorial to follow but I found I needed the scarf to be longer but the great thing is how quickly they whip up! Awesome Christmas gifts!! Thank you Wilma❤❤

I never heard of crocheting HDC as you go, rather than make a chain first- that’s so wild! Quick question- what size hook would you recommend for Bernat yarn? And how many stitches across should I do? Any help is appreciated!

Dankjewel! Hier was ik naar op zoek. Een moderne gehaakt muts- sjaal. Wel spijtig ook al kan ik wat engels dat dit filmpje niet in het nederlands is en in inches ipv cm .. wordt gesproken terwijl de ondertiteling al in het engels kan. Toch een prachtige tutorial! 👌

I love this pattern! But I'm using different yarn and I'm having to go off of measurements and not the amount of stitches. When you say 18in for the hood part does that include the part that was already crochet for the scarf part? Or 18in as if we were making the hood part separately ? Thank you!

Is the hood supposed to measure 18 inches including the scarf you’ve crocheted before working on the hood? Or is the hood 18 inches on its own?

Important edit: just made mine, and I like it. However, I did what I said I would (see below) and I have to fold the scarf up in the back to wear it properly. The right way would be to include the scarf in the 18 in. I also had this question, and came back to see if she said. I'm just going to subtract the scarf because I want a big hood.

A few corrections regarding the stitch names used in this video: 2:18 - hdc in the back loop only (instead of 3rd loop) 3:28 - hdc in the back loop only (instead of 3rd loop) 4:06 - hdc in the back loop only (instead of 3rd loop) 8:17 - hdc in the 3rd loop (instead of front loop only) 9:10 - hdc in the back loop only (instead of 3rd loop) 9:45 - hdc in the 3rd loop (instead of front loop only) If this is confusing, just ignore the stitch names (you can also turn off the sound completely) and follow the movements in the video. It will show you where to insert your hook regardless of the stitch names.

I've struggled learning this pattern because I couldn't follow the video very well so my hoodies are closer to the written pattern. Please update the written pattern as that worked better for me.

She has the free pattern instructions available right under the video, but the foundation is 115 stitches if doing them the way she did, or 117 (to allow for the chain 2 turning chain) if done the traditional way. You have to scroll down the page quite a way to get to the free pattern, but it is there.

I followed the pattern exactly only I chained 117 because I couldn't do the fountain half double but other than that followed to a T. It is extremely to short... What did I do wrong?

Mine was looking much shorter as well, so I increased it by 20 to 137. It’s still shorter than hers, but still able to wrap without being overly tight. Next time I will go up another hook size and add another 20 chains. I’m glad to know I wasn’t the only one!

I’m also using medium (4) yarn and 8mm hook but only took 6 rows to reach 6 inches instead of 12 rows as instructed. What did I do wrong😢

Foundation stitches method makes for a more flexible foundation, and it eliminates the need for the separate chain then turning and working the first row.

You need to measure 55 inches, mine was more than 115 foundation chains

I don't understand where the "3rd loop" is -- it seems to be different from the back loop?

When working flat, it's the horizontal bar on the front of your work. When working in the round, the 3rd loop is on the back of your work (loop furthest away from you). Hope this helps! x

Dit garen komt uit Amerika en is volgens mij niet in Nederland te koop.

Ik heb heel veel moeite met het aan elkaar naaien van de uiteindes. Het gaat veel te snel, waardoor ik niet zie in welke steken ik precies bezig moet zijn :(
