For those struggling to follow along here’s what I wrote for the pattern, but follow along while reading the pattern because I scribbled this down 1. 6sc in MR (6) 2. 6 inc (12) 3. (Sc,inc)x6 (18) 4. (2sc,inc)x6 (24) 5. Sc each (24) 6. (2sc, dec)x6 (18) 7. Sc each (18) 8. (Sc, dec)x6 (12) 9. 5 slst, 7 hdc (12) 10. 5 slst, hdc, bobble, 3hdc, bobble, hdc (12) I do 3 hdc bobble for chunkier yarn, 4hdc bobble for thinner yarn 11. 5 slst, 7hdc (12) 12. (Hdcinc), 5slst, (hdcinc)x6 (19) 13. 2hdc, 5scinc, 12 hdc (24) insert eyes in bobbles 14. 2 hdc, (scinc, sc)x3, scinc, (2hdc, hdcinc)x5 15. Slst, (ch17. Start in 2nd from hook. 4 slst, 4hdc, 4dc, 4tc, skip 2 sts at base, slst in 3rd) repeat for 8 arms. Slst in remaining 2 stitches (might be 3) Change color Starting somewhere at base: Slst, (ch 1, skip 1 st, slst, ch2, skip 1 st, slst), repeat around edge of octopus. Stuff octopus head and pick a row underneath to scdec around and FO

This is a cute pattern. Using a solid yarn that’s not fluffy would be ideal for a video and I had a hard time following the underside of the arms. I wasn’t sure if you meant to alternate the term stitch and chain as the same meaning but it was too fast for me to follow and understand

This is an awesome tutorial! Thank you so much! I'm fairly new to crochet and have only made about 3 things so far. You made this really easy for a beginner like me. I wish that the yarn used was a solid color, to make it a bit more clear to follow along. Regardless, I still got it finished and it is absolutely adorable. I just made this and love it!!!! I didn’t do the suction cups, but he’s gorgeous! I can’t remember which row it is, but it’s supposed have 24 stitches. I ended up three stitches short so I had to repeat the last repetition one last time. Thanks for this incredible pattern! Love it!

I am so glad you like it! The hook you’ll want to use will depend on your tension, let me explain…If you naturally have a little bit of tighter tension I would probably use a 8 mm hook, however if you have a little bit more loose tension like I tend to have I would use a 6mm hook so there are no holes when you stuff the octopus. Let me know if you have any other questions!🧶❤

The multi colored or tweed yarn is very hard to see the stitches on camera in order to follow along. A solid color would be much better.
