I've gotta boil mine in chicken stock until fork tender and dry them before battering and frying. It makes them 10 times more enjoyable. Tender, as opposed to overly chewy

I actually like it chewy! But then again, I never tried boiling it first so will have to give it a try :)

Yess same here. They tend to be really hard. But i like the crunchieness and rhe sauce ingredients yumm.

Agreed. I love chicken gizzard, but straight to the oil, without precooking it would make it tough, no? Boil it with seasonings plus bay leaf. Now with chicken hearts, fry it with precooking it would be wonderful 😋

i definitely recommend pickle juice in the milk as well as some seasoning like paprika and garlic powder but those look amazing, will have to try!!

You can soak the gizzards in a mixture of about 1 qt water and 1 tsp baking soda for an hour. Make sure to rinse them off before cooking

@@sarahlola96 I'm not creepy...I have bi-polar type 1....and im unstable at times...especially when I'm drunk and not taking my meds...sometimes I have no recollection of anything I did the night before.. I go out and get into fights and wake up bloody with no memory of what happened. Comments help me to remember how my behaviour was. Relax and let it go

Does this work for other meats?
We love to eat that, I like to dip those in vinegar with onions and chilis. They're cooked like that too and then the vendors skewered it😋 but I'd rather cooked it myself cause its much cheaper.
You should try chicken hearts. You can grill them and eat them medium rare.
I've never eaten gizzards. I see them in the butcher shop but I have not got the first clue about cooking them! I'd have to do the boil first because I'm lactose intolerant

@@linackj Doing that results in the opposite of what you intend. It just spreads the bacteria even more places. Heat on cooking surface / in any liquid is enough to kill bacteria. Washing only spreads it.
