Crisp Line-up: How to adjust Andis Outliner Blade set #3

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

How to Adjust Blade set on Andis Outliner II & T-Outliner Trimmers.
*ATTENTION: Several problems can cause trimmers and clippers to poor perform poorly.
In this How to video, I touch on 4 blade set problems which can cause trimmers and/or clippers to cut poorly.
1. Overbite (lower/stationary blade is higher then the cutting blade).
2. Under-bite (cutting/moving blade is higher then the lower/stationary blade).
3.Overly tightened Tension Spring Screw.
4. Insufficient Lubrication.
*I DID NOT speak on DULLNESS, CHIPPED, CRACKED, BENT, FIBER T-GUIDE WEAR and TOOTH DAMAGE.
Possible Causes for Poorly working tools are endless.

    I had been trying to align my blades for about a week and finally got it without them nicking me thanks to your video. Also, I found that a quality small hand mirror is a great flat surface to use for aligning the blades too. Thanks for posting this.

    @dtrustsone I'll post a video on the way I "SHAPEN" my blades, in general can never guarantee the flatness of both blade mating surfaces. I'd suggest replacing them for best results. The metal device you're referring to is called a V-Block, I use the V-Block because I know that surfaces are true(flat or 180degrees). I'm a machinist be trade and machined that block myself.

    @SHEEDY5618 Which trimmer is better? In my opinion both my trimmers are Outliner II's 1 regular blade set, 1 with the T-outliner blade set. Both are good but the T-outliner makes short work when it comes to trimming due to the extra length of the blade. My choise is the T-outliner. What are your thoughts, which is better for you? Thanks for the question. One!

  • @DelaceLeCoiffeur
    @DelaceLeCoiffeur12 жыл бұрын

    @djzaggay Ayo, this trimmers require regular maintenance, rule of thumb: Tighten the tension screw until it is flush makes contact with the tension spring and then give the tension screw another 1/4 to a 1/2 turn MAX. If you Tighten it all the way the blade set will surely over heat quickly.

  • @mateckz
    @mateckz10 жыл бұрын

    You have to adjust the tension screw its too loose if its buzzing loud. Also make sure you spray some andis/oster air lube on it. WOrks perfect.

    Hey, I I have an Andis T-Outliner and the cutting blade is off centered as the first tooth from the left on the cutting blade is to the left of the first gap on the comb blade. Do you know how I can fix this?

    @dtrustsone Might I ask how much you spent for benchstone from home depot? Is the benchstone still being used or is it collecting dust? How much do you think a blade set cost? I think we all(myself included) do things the hard way, I strongly suggest replacing the blades at least you know that had to pass Quality Control.

  • @seoulman2u
    @seoulman2u11 жыл бұрын

    I learned a lot here. But, keep in mind some key points you blazed through. Like when you said you set the blade here because thats where it starts. I wished you could have held it a couple seconds longer so we could see exactly where you meant. When I pause the video-it wasn't as clear-so couldn't really tell. But I did learn. Also, what do you think of the Anivo Zero gap setters? I see you have your monster setter there.

    Thanks for the reply.....I assume "Shapen" is a formal name for "Sharpening" (like sharpening a knife, etc)? I hear that the best result in getting trimmer to cut sharply is to sharpen them with a benchstone (assuming blades are adjust correctly) or get them sharpen by a diamond machine sharpener. I tried sharpening with a bench stone from home depot and i think i actually made it more dull. Any advice or video would be appreciated...thanks in advance!

    @enjoi1396 the cutting blade is running on an angle? perhaps, the fiber t-guide needs adjusting because the cutting blade runs on the t-guide and if the guide is off-center then the cutting blade will be too. So start over and follow my instructions. If the problem still exist then write me bacc. good luck.
